Shez: so scientists believe that a certain poisonous gas has a particular smell, but they can't know that because someone discovering that would then be dead? yes, that's it. ******SPOILER******** Last week there was a leak in an industrial factory in my city and the approx. 15 litres of poisonous battle gas went to the atmosphere. When the news was announced, all newspapers gave the message, that the gas is highly poisonous, a 0,1g in one cubic metre of air can kill a human. Then it was written that the gas smells like freshly mowed grass. And then I started wondering - how could anybody learn it? And even if someone could, what is the practical use of it, given that if I was able to smell it, I would be dead in a while? Thanks to everybody who contributed and congratulations to Shez for solving. |
