She was just about to reach her aim. She was eager to do it and she had no reason to stop. Yet, accomplishing her mission took her an unreasonable amount to time. doing it = reaching her aim = accomplishing her mission All "she"s and "her"s refer to the same person. |

she = H/A/F? True story? FYOI? FSEI? Time and/or location relevant? If so, [LTPF list of decades] and [LTPF list of countries], please. Did her aim have something to do with... her job? her family? sports? a hobby of hers? convincing someone else? Are any of the following relevant: Her job? religion? ethnicity? education? age? name? Was it her fault that it took her so long? Was it someone else's fault? Was it due to something she had no control over? Under normal circumstances, would it have taken her hours? days? weeks? months? years? Did she need hours? days? weeks? months? years? |

You shouldn't have told me. I thought maybe you were being terribly clever and hid a clue in the puzzle statement that we would assume was a typo. :D Did something interrupt her checking her e-mail? Something on her phone? Is it relevant where she is when this happens? As in country? As in place (like at the store)? |

Is a certain website relevant? Yes It's not necessary to figure out which one though - it's probably too specific for most of you anyway. It's the mobile web site of my (German) mail provider where I check my inbox and everything. There's something about it that you could figure out without actually knowing the site. |

Does the Inbox keep refreshing before she can open any mail items? No Is the phone trying to do some sort of update? No Is the mail program the only one running? Irr, assume Yes (just to avoid misunderstandings, it's not an app responsible for mails only, it's the mobile version of my webmail account in the browser) Is another program interfering? No I just can share my experience with my mobile phone and my German mail provider: Does the mobile phone place a stupid message box right over the button to open the mail? No, I can do that and you cannot close the message box? No so it became impossible to open the mailbox? Yes, while it's not impossible, I have a problem opening the mailbox, among other things. You're definitely OTRT. |

No to all From time to time, my phone's screen is too small to display the sites so that the login thing is hidden behind an ad or something else. Did something like this happen? No ad anywhere and I doubt that the screen size is the reason for my problem because a) it's pretty large and b) my account looks perfectly fine on the screen... |

Are beta versions of something relevant? See below Of the phone? No Of your provider's website? Well, I can't quite imagine that, but on the other hand, the problem I have is so obvious that the testers of the website should've noticed it while testing. It makes me think of that phrase you often read in electronics forums - that the costumer is in fact the beta tester due to the makers releasing unfinished products to the market (this phrase is what I based the puzzle title on). So either, the website was tested quite sloppily (if at all) or it's really just me or my phone :-/ |

Can you read the text? Yes Click on links? Yes Can you properly "click" on things? NO!! Are individual links too small for your finger to single out? Could be And you end up clicking other things? YES!! **************** SPOILER **************** On the mobile version of my mail provider's website, after logging in, you're directed to a page consisting only of a list of the folders you can open. The folders are listed vertically, with lines separating the entries. I figure the entire area between two lines serves as a link and normally, upon selecting a folder, said area is highlighted and then you're directed to the folder. But sometimes (at least once per mail checking session), only the area under the text is highlighted, and then the strange thing happens: Either the folder over or under the one I actually selected is highlighted and I'm directed to that folder! It's not much of a big deal but it gets really annoying, especially when I want to check several folders during a session (and, to get the reference to the puzzle statement, it makes opening the desired folder take much more time). And I can't enlarge the view to make clicking on whatever I'm actually supposed to click on easier. It happens to me so often that, unless it's really just me or my phone, the website testers ought to have noticed that at some point, especially seeing that I have smaller fingers than the average person, making be theoretically less likely to have that problem. So it makes me feel a bit like a beta tester of the website. Good work everyone! :-D |
