Is there a brand/product mascot bearing the same name as an inventor? Or does the brand or product itself have the same name as an inventor? Did you think that the mascot invented the brand/product? Is a commercial relevant? Any of the actors in said commercial? Did one actor play a role in commercials for different products? Which word of the puzzle statement would have to be emphasized? He? Invented? That? Too? |

...that a Mr Benz (assuming you didn't know about Carl Benz) first invented the cars and then the rice? Did you, due to the picture of "Uncle Ben" on the rice packages, think that Carl Benz was black? Did you think that Benz wasn't German or that, the other way round, "Uncle Ben" was German? Assuming you could read back then, did you think that either "Ben's" or "Benz" must be a typo? |

Assuming you could read back then, did you think that either "Ben's" or "Benz" must be a typo? no to rest, and here comes the ********SPOILER******** As a child, I misunderstood "Uncle Ben's" as "Uncle Benz" and therefore thought that Carl Benz invented both cars and instant rice. One day, I learned to read, and my illusions were shattered :D Nice work everyone! |

That's awesome! I love the things that made perfect sense to us when we were young. It's sort of sad we lose so much of ability to see connections, even wrong ones, everywhere. Great puzzle! |
