Are you seriously asking us to guess out of the blue what word she typed wrong? Not really. As a hint though, the word with the typo was part of a phrase. That should help. Was it "study"? Was it "sex"? Her name? "Homosexuality"? No to all of these, but the (correct) phrase was related to homosexuality ...and I'm out of guesses. :D Given what I've said, it should be easy. | ||

I know you are trying to be encouraging, but you've already discussed in other puzzles that you have an ASD, which means you see the world in a different way than those without ASDs...so I'm not sure what you consider easy or a logical linear leap is going to help me a lot. Also, apologies if I've offended but I was engaged for a time to an Aspie and I've lived the endless rounds of "Why do you not see this makes perfect sense? I get it and if you don't, then you're stupid" (from him, clearly). *SIGH* A phrase related to homosexuality... Is it offensive? Is it slang? Phrase like a hyphenated phrase? Like same-sex? Is the orientation involved? The word gay? | ||

No, she really needed to post the correction! If one in three black men who she has sex with is HIV-positive, and she has sex with enough of them to provide a valid "one in three" statistic, then chances are she has had sex with many men who are HIV-positive. Do you want a more graphic description? | ||

I really don’t need a more graphic description (yikes!). I was more ribbing you about some shoddy statistics there. A valid sample size for the statement “one in three black men who have had sex with me” would be three, provided all of her partners were black and one had HIV. Also, HIV transmission rates for a single encounter with proper condom use are rather low (1 in 5000). |
