Are they part of a group? Do they have something in common?
Do they work together?
Know each other?
Related to each other?
Related to you?

Are they in a position of authority over you?
Teachers?
Law enforcement?
Doctors?
Some sort of government official?

Do you have any authority over them?

You were the fool because:
You ended up doing the thing you were trying to avoid?
Your clever way did not work?
Did they get their desired outcome anyway?

Did you even have the class that day? no, but still an FA.

I'll do a RECAP that might help to clear it up:
I thought I had found a way to outsmart people (don't focus on the individuals, but...) at my university. But in the end, I ended up doing something that I tried to avoid and they got the desired outcome.
Two classes are relevant, Swedish and Italian. I was not in the Swedish class, and for the Italian class it's a yope that you should explore. A little hint: The yope later changed to a yes.
Focus on the time.

I'm guessing why on earth she didn't just ask for the Swedish class in the first place.

Also, REALLY? Your school considers Swedish a perfect substitute for Italian? That's kind of like asking for Cognitive Pysch course and being assigned to The Philosophy of Consciousness.

Did your advisor/some professor want you to take Italian? yope, but I think we have enough for a

********SPOILER********
Everyone in my programme has to take a second foreign language. In the programme description on the internet it said that we could take either a Scandinavian or a Romance language and I was really looking forward to taking Swedish.
But then our advisor strongly recommended us not to take Swedish because the Scandinavian language classes often overlap with mandatory classes, and she told us not to sing up for them.
Clever Doriana thought she could outsmart her profs, advisors and the online sign up system: I looked for Romance language classes that were already full, thinking that if I signed up for one of these, I wouldn't get a place so that I could tell the advisor that I have to take Swedish.
Well, what I didn't take into consideration is that most students sign up for more than one language course so that they're actually not overbooked. So I ended up having to take Italian.

Nice work, everyone, especially Vesica and Balin! (:
