Deaths relevant? Thank God, no. Although it might have been kinder for her if she had died. He = HAM? Yes, although I question how any human could do what he did. She = HAF? Yes Age of son relevant? Only in that he was old enough to understand what was going on. He won't be forgetting it easily. Was he violent towards her? Extremely. Abusive in any other way? Well, I've no doubt this left emotional and mental scars, as well as the obvious physical ones. |

You said they were a couple. Yes, I did. Relevant if they lived together or not? They did Were they boys also his sons? They were not, thank God. The boys also have regular contact with their dad. Did he attack her? Yes. with a weapon? So far as I am aware, no, other than... bare hands? This, which I consider a weapon in this case. Did he try to kill her? A blog I read about it says he "left her for dead", so presumably yes, though the police report I was told about said he stopped battering her when something specific happened. |

No, but...(You're missing a piece of info about the attack) Are any other persons besides the three we already know relevant? H? A? M? Two more: her younger son, and her ex-husband. But neither of them *stopped* the attack, either. |

The younger one, however, did do something...(though that didn't stop the attack either) |

Was the object placed on a shelf? a ledge? a window sill? None of these. Did anyone in particalur make it fall off? Yes, the woman. It was over her head, incidentally. If so, on purpose? by accident? Could have been either, but I vote for accidentally, as I don't think she was doing much purposely by then. |

Replaced? Removed? Sadly, this. RECAP: A woman was beaten by her boyfriend, with the result that her eyes were damaged so badly, she was blinded in one and the other had to be removed. He only stopped beating her when a towel, which had been draped over her head as he beat her, fell off. Her older son was watching. To find out: What did the boyfriend do after stopping the attack? How was the attack discovered, and who got help? |

Did the son call for help? Which one? Did another witness? There were just her and her two sons left in the house after the boyfriend left |

incidentally, not 911, 999, though he did not call them. Someone did, however, after being called to the scene |

Lemme see... -Boyfriend beats woman near death, only stopping when a towel falls off her head, revealing that one of her eyes is blinded and the other is so badly damaged that it will later be removed. -Boyfriend flees scene. -Younger son calls father, who comes to the house, comes upon the scene, and calls 999. That everything? |

Did she put the towel on her head? Did the boyfriend? Did any of her sons? Was the towel put on her head before the beating? During it? |

Did he put it on her head so she wouldn't see him beat her? So she wouldn't be able to defend herself? |

Did he put it on her head so she wouldn't see him beat her? So she wouldn't be able to defend herself? well, the 'why' is irrelevant as I don't know. Both these things, probably. It was only important to know that he did it. So what happened after he ran off? |

Relevant where he went? Not where exactly, but... Did he go into hiding? this is what you needed Was he eventually caught? and YES!! ***SPOILER*** Shane Jenkins, of Cornwall, brutally beat his 30 year old girlfriend, blinding her in one eye and causing the other to need surgical removal, on the Thursday prior to Easter. He did this in front of her 13 year old son, stopping only when the towel he'd thrown over her head fell off. Then he fled the scene. Her 4 year old son then phoned his father, saying "Daddy, Mummy's hurt." The dad drove round to his ex-wife's, and discovering her in critical condition, phoned 999. Meanwhile, Jenkins went into hiding, hidden by a person or persons whose names are irrelevant (as I don't know who they are). He was finally caught on the Monday following Easter and charged with the assault. The person or persons who hid him will be charged with obstructing the police in their duties. His case will be heard before the Crown Court in May. (My friend Emma works for the Special Constabulary in Camborne and told me that her colleagues caught this monster. I am so glad they did...Poor woman, she'll never see her sons again :-( ) |

I'm usually against capital punishment, but in cases like this... well. I suggest they shatter his eye sockets and remove his eyes, too. This is just sick. |

UPDATE: Shane Jenkins has been charged with attempted murder, but he only admitted to GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm). He will be sentenced sometime in the next month. |
