It: A crime? A household chore? Buying something? Helping somebody else? Doing somebody else a favor? Suprising somebody? Going somewhere? Something related to school/work? Is a party relevant? Do they have to do it that night because the speaker just feels like doing it then? Or would it be too late to do it if they waited longer? If so, is it because something or somebody they need won't be available later on? Because somebody has to see a certain result until a certain time? Because later on, doing it would be more dangerous or inconvenient? Is darkness required to do it? Or people being asleep? Or shops being closed? |

do it = watch birds? Possibly, but improbably something else? Yes something naughty? No Is this something a girl says to her boyfriend? Vice versa? a woman says to her significant other? Vice versa? a wife says to her husband? Vice verss? Or something totally different? No, assume a man says to a woman, but the opposite can be true as well It: A crime? A household chore? Buying something? Helping somebody else? Doing somebody else a favor? Suprising somebody? Going somewhere? This one. No to the rest Something related to school/work? Is a party relevant? Do they have to do it that night because the speaker just feels like doing it then? Yesish Or would it be too late to do it if they waited longer? No If so, is it because something or somebody they need won't be available later on? No Because somebody has to see a certain result until a certain time? No Because later on, doing it would be more dangerous or inconvenient? On the contrary Is darkness required to do it? NO - good question! Or people being asleep? No Or shops being closed? No Is the speaker HAM? This one, in my scenario HAF? Is "darling" HAM? HAF? This Their gender is irrelevant, they are both HA. I imagined it as a man speaking to a woman. The reverse can be also true. |

Is it a gym? A schoolyard? No to both Assuming a school is relevant, is it ... an elementary school? ...a high school? ...a college? ...a drama school? Is this relevant? No school is relevant. School was the closest option from the ones presented, but not that close and in a lateral way close. Maybe trying out some more options for "places" will clear this up Is it a school performance? Are Lilia and Virgil parents of a child who is in some way involved in the production? Or do Lilia and Virgil take part in it themselves? Are they students at the school-type place? Are they teachers? Administrators? Do they have children who attend the school? Are other people going to that building? Yes, many, and FA That room? Possibly Are they doing something illegal? So the place isn't a building? Let me clarify this: The place they (and many others) are going is a building but possibly more than one. There are some people going to buildings different than where they are going, but of the same "type". The FA above was that there's only one building where all the ones involved were going. Is it outdoors? Is it an open field? An open air theater? A place where some kind of training takes place? A sports field? So no to these |

Usually not are the objects transformed in some way? Usually not is the building a library? museum? Bingo! stadium? The "Long Night of the Museums" relevant? And we have a WINNER! Well done! Time for the usual ****** SPOILER ****** The Long Night of Museums is a tradition that according to wikipedia started in Berlin in 1997. Since it is performed annually in my home town of Bucharest, I once participated, a few years ago. It won't happen again. I've seen some reports from this year's event, which happened at the same time with the ones in Paris and London -- maybe at the same time with those from other cities as well -- and I am still puzzled. Why on earth lots of people go to see exhibitions of art, history, natural science, etc. in the middle of the night, amidst crowds of fellow humans who are seemingly similarly inclined, when they have perfect chances to do it quietly and peacefully in sunny Sunday afternoons, for example? Probably it's just me. But I thought it nice to turn it into a puzzle for everyone. Thanks to all who participated and to Sundowner for the final solve

Very nice puzzle - I'm sorry I didn't stay till the end, but I was away for the weekend. I went to the Long Night of the Museums in Cologne last (this?) year and I didn't particularly enjoy it. The museums were terribly crowded and we didn't stay in any of them for too long because we wanted to see as much as possible. There was, however, a great sound installation in our underground Roman ruins that usually isn't there. |
