If it's not based on or inspired by the story - is it the story? Yes, and I think that's enough. **********SPOILER********** Several of Agatha Christie's plays have also been published in short-story or novel form. One of her plays, Witness for the Prosecution, is being performed near my house when I'm on spring break, so naturally, I want to go see it. Although I own the short story, I have not yet read it and do not intend to read it until after I see the play, so as not to spoil the ending.
