Tattoos relevant? Fountain pens? Stamp pads? Silkscreening? Other printmaking? (Have you seen my etchings? :-) If the puzzle scenario can be thought of as a little story, could it be like this: - You read something, indicating to you that a thing (some ink?) is black - Something else happens (you see something, someone speaks) momentarily leading you to believe your initial belief is wrong (or that the label is wrong), i.e., the thing is NOT black - Then something happens (you see something, someone speaks, a new thing is revealed) reconfirming the first impression -- the thing IS black. |

Is the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK) color system relevant? Did the K actually not originally stand for "black", but people came to think so? ***SPOILER*** From Wikipedia: The "K" in CMYK stands for key since in four-color printing cyan, magenta, and yellow printing plates are carefully keyed or aligned with the key of the black key plate. Some sources suggest that the "K" in CMYK comes from the last letter in "black" and was chosen because B already means blue. However, this explanation, though plausible and useful as a mnemonic, is incorrect. Thanks for playing! |
