Wild guess, a hairdresser? And you asked for a different colour/haircut, and she gave you a different one, but you didn't like it? Is it a restaurant? café? bar? If it's a store - a supermarket? clothing store? shoe store? electronics store? |

I had a second wild guess that came to my mind after I had posted the first one but before I saw that it was correct. I want to share it with you nevertheless because I like it so much *pats self on shoulder* : You are in a clothing store, trying on a piece of clothing in size M. It doesn't fit and you ask the sales assistant to give you a different size. She gives you an L, which upsets you because you wanted an S. :D Ok, so the two different things are two different haircuts. Correct? And you were upset although you hadn't seen the new cut yet. Correct? Did you get upset before she started cutting your hair? while she was cutting your hair? afterwards? Jvp asked if the hairdresser had said something. If no - did someone else in the hair salon say something? About your cut? about you? about the hairdresser? Is there a relevant third person? |

Irr was the style one you'd had years before? was it a style more suited to a man? a style worn by someone you don't like? None of these was it TOO different? Again, I hadn't seen it, but you've got the right idea. Jvp Did the hairdresser say something? About the cut just given? Yes to both! Doriana I had a second wild guess that came to my mind after I had posted the first one but before I saw that it was correct. Ok, so the two different things are two different haircuts. Correct? Yes-ish And you were upset although you hadn't seen the new cut yet. Correct? Tardigradeparty So something like "That's...different..."? YES Doriana Did she say "You look like [person]"? "You look like a whole new person"? Not these Shez did she say "You look so much younger"? thinner? did she say it took years off you? No although these might not have gone over well either **********SPOILER********** I've been going to the same hairdresser for a while, and I always get the same cut. But the last time, I asked her for fringe/bangs- something I hadn't had since I was a child. She asked if I wanted any particular style of fringe/bangs. I replied, "No, not really. I'm just bored with it as it is, and I want something different." Different in the sense that having fringe/bangs would be different for me. She turned me away from the mirror, as she always does, and cut my hair while we chatted. When she finished, she proudly exclaimed, "This is certainly different from what everyone else is doing!" I was very upset for a few seconds. Once I got the salon cape off and was able to examine it, it wasn't bad. Thanks! You all had great ideas! |

Hehe, nice puzzle! I'm always a little afraid of going to the hairdresser although I've known mine for 11 years now and I should know that he won't screw it up. Some months ago I went to another hairdresser, and well, the cut she gave me was "different" indeed. But I ended up liking it (: |
