This is a spin-off of the long puzzle that Jvp mentioned in the chatroom. A man sits on his toilet backwards, facing the tank. Why? |

Man: H/A/M? True story? FYOI? FSEI? Because he heard about the other puzzle and thought it would be a good idea? Because he felt like it? |

He likes to admire the artwork he hung over the toilet? He likes to admire the neighbor across the street through the window above the toilet? He's really strange? He finds the tank a convenient place to rest his book/magazine? He doesn't fit the regular way? |

Was he dared to do it? Was he actually, um, using the toilet for its intended function, or was the lid closed and he was using it more as a chair? Was he trying to see the tank better? Something on the tank? Inside the tank? |

Ha Ha Lynne I would have loved it if that was the answer. Is there a mirror on the wall above the toilet? A window? Is he practicing or rehearsing something? does he speak while he does this? Sing? Does he flush the toilet or touch any part of the cistern? Does he consider what he is doing to be entertanment? Does he have music on? Silly guess time: Does he have an ambition to be a jockey and he's practising his riding stance? I had a really great pun solution for this but as he is not actually using the toilet for it's intended purpose I think I'll forget it. |

Is the lid on the cistern? Is his profession/livelihood relevant? His geographic location? The type of living space (condo, flat, house, etc.)? Any other people involved? Animals? When he is finished doing whatever it is, is he wet? Is his activity (albeit perhaps unconventionally) associated with any normal bathroom tasks? |

Does he have any other object(s) with him for this activity? Is his butt in contact with the seat at all times (until he ceases the activity)? Is the exercise any kind of weight-lifting? Is it any kind of stationary-object resistance training? Is the geometry of the toilet relevant (relative heights/angles/etc.)? If so, is the relevant aspect: the height of the seat? The width of the seat? The height of the top of the cistern? The distance from the floor to the bottom of the cistern? The roundness or distinctive contour of any the parts? I thought he was doing some sort of sit-up? Yes!! does he go down below the horizontal? Yes, and that's the **********SPOILER********** The man is doing sit-ups. He sits on the toilet backwards so that he has a wider range of motion when going both up and down, allowing him to get a better workout. Nice work everyone, and thanks for indulging me on this little spinoff. |

Nice puzzle! But can he not just do this on a backwards chair? |

On a backwards chair, he wouldn't have had any grip with his feet and would have fallen. On the toilet, he gets to prop his feet at an angle that allow him to lean farther back. |
