Are they made from a variety of materials? Are they made of cloth? Should I ask about particular kinds of cloth? Are "these" things that were made recently, such as in the last 50 years? Are they, like, body armor that were used in the Middle Ages and wouldn't fit anyone today? Are they headgear such as hats or helmets? |

Is the peril a matter of embarrassment? Such as wearing your bicycle helmet, and then forgetting to take it off when you join other people? Rbruma, I'm not asking about that precise situation: I mean, is it real life-endangering peril, or social peril? Is wearing it something that is against school dress code, church dress code, or something similar? Is it something that's often worn and considered cool by some teens and uncool by others? |

Is the headgear worn as part of a uniform? A military uniform? A work-related uniform? Is the headgear worn to protect the head from the elements? To protect the head from weapons? Or projectiles? Is the headgear intended to protect the wearer at all? Is there a season more likely for the headgear to be worn? Warm weather? cold weather? Wet weather? Is there some design of the headgear which would make it more perilous than some other design? Could it be possible for me to purchase one of these today in a regular store? Or a specialist store? If I wore one today, would anyone seeing me be very suprised I was wearing one? |

Yes Is speaker the president (of wherever it is)? Yes Is the president part of the group being spoken to? Yes Is the group a collection of presidents or heads of state? No Or a single presidend Yes and entourage? But no As we discovered he is the president, maybe the best word is not "speaking to the group" but "addressing to the group" out of his official position |

is this about the banning of the fez? Indeed it is, well done! ******* SPOILER ******* As the history teaches us, Mustafa Kemal, the renowned Ottoman - Turkish officer, the hero of Gallipoli in WWI and also the founder of the Republic of Turkey and its first president, wanted to align his country with the West, thus introducing many reforms, from religion, to education and even to the dress code. As a hardened general, he wouldn't take a no for an answer easily. One of his reforms -- pertaining to the dress code -- was to forbid by law the wearing of the traditional Turkish fez and to replace it with the European hat. As opposition mounted, an anecdote says, his advisers notified him of the problem. To which Mustafa answered: "If you want to wear fez, wear it. I guarantee you that by tomorrow you will have nothing to wear it on!" It seems that the conservatives at the time got the idea. Thanks to all who participated and to Shez especially for the final solve. The reference in the title is to the fact that Mustafa Kemal is normally called also Ataturk, which literally means "the father of the Turks". The International Airport in Istanbul, as well as dozens of places in Turkey and elsewhere, bear his name.
