You didn't look like you were speaking in tongues, did you? My friend Tina from school invited me to her church once, and people did that there, and it looked to me like they were having seizures, and I got really, really afraid because instead of being helped the pastor was acting like this was the most wonderful awesome thing ever, and all I could think of was if I had a seizure in Tina's church I'd never get to the hospital =( |

No to all The ball- a big exercise ball? another type? just some big random type-irrelevant ball? It was a beach ball. The BLOOPER was because I'd originally remembered it being a soccer ball, but it was a beach ball. |

Was your (or someone else's) Bible stuck in a tree? If so, was it stuck there before the beach ball? after? Guess: You were playing with the beach ball and got it stuck in a tree. You threw your Bible to get it down, prompting the reactions in the puzzle statement. However, your Bible got stuck in the tree. For one reason or another, you left it there. Then you came back with Item 1 and used it to knock your Bible out of the tree. When a Bible came tumbling down from a tree, it prompted a new set of the old reactions. OTRT? |

Was your (or someone else's) Bible stuck in a tree? Yes, mine If so, was it stuck there before the beach ball? after? This Guess: You No, someone else were playing with the beach ball and got it stuck in a tree. OTRT? But this is pretty much right (I'll elaborate in the $poyler) -- nice work! One more minor piece and I'll call this: Why those reactions? |

Was it a children's bible? A commentary? Something else that made it less, well, blasphemous and more humorous to throw it into a tree? Did everyone know it was a Bible? As a kid at Hebrew school I was taught to kiss my prayerbook whenever I closed it and also if I happened to drop it on the floor. Can't imagine how many germs I must have picked up that way... I would never have imagined throwing it though! |

Was it a children's bible? No A commentary? No Something else that made it less, well, blasphemous and more humorous to throw it into a tree? You've just summed up the reactions. I think I can call that a solve. Did everyone know it was a Bible? Yes As a kid at Hebrew school I was taught to kiss my prayerbook whenever I closed it and also if I happened to drop it on the floor. Can't imagine how many germs I must have picked up that way... I would never have imagined throwing it though! I wouldn't have either, until the situation came up...I'll explain more in the $poyler **********SPOILER********** This happened over the summer, when I was in Myrtle Beach for 2 months. A couple of us were walking to the parking lot when we noticed that a kid had gotten his beach ball stuck in a tree. I decided to help, and took the heaviest thing I had (my Bible -- we were about to head to church) and tossed it at the ball. Naturally, I missed completely and got it stuck. Some people understood why I had thrown my Bible into the tree, but more thought it...hmmm...I suppose "blasphemous" is a little too harsh, but something like that; however, pretty much everyone laughed because, after all, it was funny. Six hours later, I was finally able to get the Bible out by throwing a rock at it, prompting the set of reactions again. Nice work everyone (Ciaobella, Jenburdoo, etc), and be wary when throwing objects into palm trees. |
