My first ever 'scrund' puzzle. I think it will go quickly, let's see how we do...

Mrs H had an unbelievable scrund about an animal

Mrs H -- your wife, right?

Did she have the scrund as a child / young teenager?
Or rather as an adult?

Ways by which said cats communicate - relevant? Is the scrund about a joint characteristic of lion and tiger, but which doesn't exist in a panther/leopard?

Living lions relevant, or rather a depiction of them in a movie? Cartoon?

The fact that these big cats are usually apex predators yn their territories - relevant?

Zoos relevant? Habitats? Feeding? Hunting/catching prey? all no

Mrs H -- your wife, right? yes

Did she have the scrund as a child / young teenager? almost certainly
Or rather as an adult? definitely this

Ways by which said cats communicate - relevant? no Is the scrund about a joint characteristic of lion and tiger yope, but which doesn't exist in a panther/leopard? no

Living lions relevant yes, actual living lions, or rather a depiction of them in a movie? Cartoon?

The fact that these big cats are usually apex predators yn their territories - relevant? possibly had something to do with how the scrund formed, but i'd say no

Is butter relevant at all? no

Is it that you can see Lions and tigers only in Kenya? no

I feel in order not to mislead, I should clarify that now both lions and tigers have been mentioned, the puzzle is ultimately about lions AND tigers - not lions OR tigers

Is thinking that tigers are young lions no or female lions relevant? this! quite unbelievably
Anything remotely close to that?

**********SPOILER*************

I was astounded a couple of years ago when, in conversation, it became clear that my wife thought that Lions were the males and Tigers were the females of the same species!!

Quite how she came to that conclusion I do not know. As you might imagine, she has given me enough material over the last 10 years to keep me in puzzles for a while longer yet.

Well done potato for the lateral leap to solve the puzzle.

ahaha...well, for ligers, they're the originators of said 'species'! *grin* now tigons on the other hand are bred from a male tiger and a lioness...=D so I was kind've OTRT, wasn't I? *gives Andy a cheeseburger* good puzzle! ^_^

Heh.. If lions are the males, the tigers the females, we need to find a way to put also the panthers and the jaguars in the picture :-)

Nice puzzle, thanks.
