Did you fall and hit your head? Did something hit you on the head? Were you at home? Out in public? Relevant? Given that you're doing a puzzle about it, I'm going to assume you're OK now. But it must have been painful. |

Can i eliminate an obvious red herring and ask if the boxing reference in the puzzle title is in any way relevant other than as a link to being knocked out. |

Did you fall because you tripped over something? Slipped on something? Walked into something and then fell (backwards)? This is closest. And indeed I fell backwards Was it a window? A door? a wall? a door? a window? Can i eliminate an obvious red herring and ask if the boxing reference in the puzzle title is in any way relevant other than as a link to being knocked out. Yes, this is the only reference. I used a recent match box for the IBF world title in which a Romanian was TKO, to put as a title All unanswered questions are a no |

Peter, I was wrong in the first place -- this was not a good puzzle, but a story. The fact was that while half asleep and trying to find my phone which had an alarm set, I accidentally tripped over my desk chair in my bedroom, fell in between my bed and a wall-affixed radiator, and missed by about 2 inches to be dead. Story follows: At the moment I didn't feel nothing. I went back in bed, chat with my wife for about 20 minutes, than I felt an urge for something to eat. Nothing suitable in the refrigerator, so I went to the nearest McDonalds for a cheeseburger. The lady serving looked at me with awe and said that that the cheeseburger is on the house. Ok, I said, maybe it's some promotion.. Whatever.. I ate the thing, while noticing that people are looking at me strangely. I went back home and my mom looked at me like I was a zombie. Ok -- whatever -- and I went to the bathroom -- and finally it dawned to me (while accidentally looking in the mirror): My hair was all soaking red, blood was all over my face, my shirt was all stained -- for the first time in my life I looked like a killer. Then I fainted. It took about 24 hrs for the bleeding to stop. But what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I don't need an alarm any more : - ) And maybe next time I will find a better puzzle.

I think it would have made a good puzzle... if we'd gotten past the FA that you went unconscious right when you fell. Awesome story though! |
