Is Nellina a young child? Would an adult be likely to ask this question? Was the question about why this was? Did she have a misunderstanding abut computers? About the organisations? About the period during which her father was a child? Is it relevant (to Nellina's question) that computers used to be very expensive? That they used to be enormous? That they couldn't do as much as they can nowadays? | ||

Did her question suggest that she thought computers in her father's time were more advanced than they actually were? Is the Internet relevant? Did she ask how people performed a certain task without computers? Or suggest a disadvantage to not having computers? Did she think her father's childhood was longer ago than it actually was? More recent than it actually was? | ||

No more than anything else on the Internet This is close enough for me to declare a ******** SPOILER *********** When Nellina's father (who is about 45) told her that he never used or even saw a computer when he was a child, she asked, "Then how did you get on the Internet?" I think this story is so funny that I couldn't resist turning it into (what was bound to be) a (very easy) puzzle. Please check out my new one, which I hope will be much harder. |
