I haven't posted a new puzzle in a while, so here's an easy one for you guys. Whenever someones offers Marla (H/A/F) a ride home, she says no and walks home. How come? |

Is her home within easy walking distance? Does she enjoy walking? Is it more difficult for a car to get anywhere near her home? Is there anything about her home that she would be embarrassed for people to see? Does Marla live with her Parents? Is she worried about disturbing anybody in her neighborhood? Does Marla have an issue with whatever mode of transportation is being offered? Is she afraid that the person offering the ride will take a detour? |

Does Marla not fit in conventional transportation very easily? Is Marla trying to lose weight? Would Marla decline the ride home if she was 10 miles from home? 100 Miles? More? Does she live in her car? Is her home actually an RV that she drives everywhere? So she's never very far from home? |

So if I were to reword Dlcygnet's question as "Does Marla fit in conventional transportation only with difficulty" would you say yes or no? |

Is there anything relevant about where she lives? Is it up a hill? Is she training for something? If she was offered a lift from her home to somewhere she was going, would she turn it down for the same reason? If she was offered a lift in a motorbike sidecar would she turn it down? Would she not get the bus (assuming there was a bus that would take her home) for the same reason that she turns down lifts? Would she be happy for somebody to walk home with her? |

Did she like to stop on her way home (for shopping, for having a drink, for example)? Does she do it(refusing a ride) anytime in a week? Or, let's say, only on Friday afternoons? Is the walking part of a treatment she follows? |

RECAP Marla is an overweight H/A/F. Whenever someone offers her a ride home, she refuses if her way home is less than five miles, give or take. She would also refuse rides in motorbike sidecars or taking the bus. Walking is yopeishly part of a treatment that she follows in order to lose weight, but losing weight or increasing her fitness are not her main reason to refuse the ride. |

If she were more than roughly five miles away, and taking some sort of transportation other than walking, would she get off the transportation at roughly five miles from home and walk the rest of the way? Is the item electronic? If so. is it solar powered? Would she refuse the ride even if were raining? snowing? Hurricane? Is there a reason that she can not accept the ride, even if she wanted too? Is it uncomfortable for her to fit or sit on or in the means of transportation offered to her? |

If Marla is too fat to comfortably fit in a car or public transportation, then she is probably too fat to walk 5 miles comfortably, or at all. Is she, instead, extremly tall? Is the possibly elecctronic device (which she shouldn't be using in a rainstorm, really) a pedometer? |

If Marla is too fat to comfortably fit in a car or public transportation, She is NOT too fat to comfortably fit in a car or public transportation. There were some double negatives that caused confusion. Marla is overweight, but not extremely fat. then she is probably too fat to walk 5 miles comfortably, or at all. so, irrel Is she, instead, extremly tall? no Is the possibly elecctronic device (which she shouldn't be using in a rainstorm, really) a pedometer? yes! |

a T shirt? membership of a club? eligibility for a race? no to all. Before this turns into a random guessing game, I'll declare the ********SPOILER******** Marla is overweight and takes part in a weight-loss programme. One part of the programme involves carrying a pedometer and getting a reward for a certain number of steps - she gets one minute of TV for every 1000 steps she does. Thanks for playing, folks! (: |
