Linda - H/A/F? her granddaughter - a toddler? child? teenager? adult? Did she encourage her to cross dress on one occassion (e.g. Halloween)? Or to do it all the time? Time and location relevant? If so, [LTPF list of centuries] and [LTPF list of continents] please. Did Linda think that her granddaughter would benefit from cross-dressing? that she herself would? |

Linda - H/A/F? Yes her granddaughter - a toddler? child?this - about 11-12 teenager? adult? Did she encourage her to cross dress on one occasionYes (e.g. Halloween)? But not this. Or to do it all the time? Did Linda think her granddaughter would benefit from cross dressing? No that she herself would? In a way, indirectly. However, there is a 3rd person who would benefit, as well. |

Would the puzzle work if Linda wasn't her grandmother but her mother? The third person - an adult? a child? related to Linda? to Linda's granddaughter? a friend of Linda's? of her granddaughter's? Is the occasion a party? A performance of some kind? And you missed my questions about time and location... |

How does cross-dressing even work in the U.S.? Where I went to school, EVERYBODY wore jeans, sneakers, and a basic shirt to school. Does it have to do with School Spirit day? Is Linda's granddaughter of a faith that requires her to cover her hair all the time? So the cross-dressing under another guise is a subtle way to subvert the religious oppression? |

Would the puzzle work if Linda wasn't her grandmother but her mother? Yes The third person - an adult? a child? This related to Linda? Yes to Linda's granddaughter? and this a friend of Linda's? of her granddaughter? n.r. Is the occasion a party? A performance of some kind? No to both. And you missed my questions about time and location.Oops! Time is the present, place the US. Somewhat relevant - it's difficult to imagine this happening a century ago, for example. How does cross-dressing even work in the U.S.? Where I went to school, EVERYBODY word jeans, sneakers, and a basic shirt to school. True, but Linda's granddaughter still had to cross-dress. Does it have to do with School Spirit day? No Is Linda's granddaughter of a faith that requires her to cover her hair all the time? So the cross-dressing under another guise is a subtle way to subvert the religious oppression? No; religion not relevant. |

Cross dressing - wearing a boy's suit? wearing a tie? wearing a boy's hat? wearing boy's underwear? wearing a boy's bathing suit? Wearing something with writing that would identify her as male? Was the cross dressing so that she would look like the other child? Could take the other child's place at something? |

Is the other child Linda's granddaughter's sibling?Actually, her uncle, but not much older. Would work just as well for sibling or cousin. If so, a girl? a boy? Yes, a boy! Was the other child in trouble? No Cross dressing - wearing a boy's suit? No/yopish wearing a tie? wearing a boy's hat?No to both wearing boy's underwear? yes/yessish wearing a boy's bathing suit? No Wearing something with righting that would identify her as male? Possibly, but n.r. Was the cross dressing so that she would look like the other child? No, but explore! Could take the other child's place at something? No. There was no intent to fool anyone, but there was a very practical reason for her cross-dressing. |

I'm somewhat stuck here. Could you give us a hint? Could we call the kids Liz and Liam, to make things easier? When Linda encourges Liz to cross-dress, is Liam present? Does Liam know he would benefit from Liz's cross-dressing? |

I'm somewhat stuck here. Could you give us a hint? Could we call the kids Liz and Liam, to make things easier? Certainly! When Linda encourages Liz to cross-dress, is Liam present? No; good q! Does Liam know he would benefit from Liz's cross-dressing? Since he is not present, he does not know. But it was intended that he benefit, in a way. Liam benefits by not having to be present during a certain activity. Is that enough of a hint? |

Is the certain activity school-related?sort of sports? an appointment at the doctor/dentist? but none of these. Do they wear the same size?Nearly! Did grandma use Liz as a model for trying on some clothes for Liam? Yes! Does Liz act as a stand-in in a movel? a photo? as a decoy? See above - and below. *************SPOILER************** Linda wanted to buy school clothes for her 12-year-old son, but being a typical boy, he didn't want to go. (Not necessarily a sex-related trait; I don't like shopping, except for books.)She bribed her granddaughter, Liz, to go with her and try on his clothes. Since Liz is tall for 11, and Liam has not reached his growth spurt yet, she thought they were about the same size. Turned out that they were not quire the same size. His new clothes were too big for him. Linda was amused, but both children were humiliated. Good work, Doriana, Shez, and especially Noel. |
