So it harmed someone's health, which is what it always does? But helped something else, which it doesn't always do? Is it a drug? A poison? A weapon? An accident? Is "it" also a concept? Does both "one" and the health belong to the same person? Does "one" belong to anyone at all? How about "it"?

So he met a coworker while on a smoke break and they wound up becoming friends? Yep, that'll do

***SPOILER***
One of my friends mentioned recently how although she knows smoking is bad for her, it does wonders for her social life - she recently started a new job and has ended up making friends with other smokers because she sees them regularly in the smoking area. So smoking harmed her health, but helped her social life.

Thanks to Galfisk for following this all the way through and Balin for getting the exact spoiler :-)
