A trait that seems totally irrelevant to their work is apparently unusually common among astronauts. What is it? |

Is it a physical trait? Personality-related? Health-related? Is it to do with things they have done? Their opinions? Could astronauts of any nationality have this trait? Any gender? Someone who trains as an astronaut but has never been to space? Would they have this trait before they become an astronaut? Might it encourage them to become one? Make it easier for them to become one? Or is it unknown why it is unusually common among astronauts? |

Would the astronaut have this trait since birth? Could they ever stop having the trait? Could you tell they had it just by looking at them? Is the trait a positive one? Negative neutral? Are the astronaut's families relevant? Their background? Education? Names? Race? Religion? Politics? Relationships? Friends? Wealth? What they did before becoming an astronaut? |

Are their parents relevant? If so, their parents' religion? whether they're churchgoers? whether they're married/divorced/widowed? Are other relatives relevant? Siblings? Relevant if the astronauts themselves are married? By names, do you mean their first names? last names? middle names? Is the origin of their first names relevant? For example, are Biblical names unusually common? Does this apply to astronauts nowadays? Astronauts several decades ago? All astronauts? Are you only talking about American astronauts relevant? |

The book doesn't speculate about the reason, but one possibility is that they're apt to come from traditional, conservative families.
