Dangerous: For the one with the name? For people around him? For the enemy? Is it a male name? Female? Neutral/both? Does the danger come from: saying the name? Shouting it? Reading it? Knowing it? Danger from: enemy fire? Friendly fire? Giving orders relevant? Following orders? Would it be dangerous in one-on-one combat? In fighting sports? such as boxing? Fencing? Martial arts? |

Is the name also a codeword for some specific operation in war? (Like, let's say, shouting "James" would mean "open fire")? |

Is this based on a joke? Could be, we certainly laughed when we realized we had a comrade in line with this name, many years ago |

Is the specific danger summable in that you might receive a typical sort of order from a higher ranked individual? that would consequently endanger this individual's life if badly interpreted? by being mistaken as an instruction to fire upon him? Might such a sufficient order begin, "Fire upon/at..."? Would you ever expect to hear such an order outside of a direct encounter with an enemy? |

Some name in the NATO phonetic alphabet? (V as in Victor, M as in Mike, etc.)? Come to think of it, Victor could present other issues in combat too. |
