But I couldn't resist, and hope participants will understand if I seem to ignore them for a few days. Fran just wanted to keep Cindy company, so she wouldn't be alone. But Rita had other ideas. Fran offered to stay in the store on Sunday morning so that Rita could go to church. (Fran would go to a later service.) She offered to do this because she thought that Rita's reluctance was due to leaving the clerk, Cindy, a young woman, in a vulnurable position, alone. But when Fran showed up to 'store-sit' Rita started instructing her in how to use the cash register. She simply didn't trust Cindy.
