Does she work? NoIs she retired?Yes Is a specific date relevant? YessishIs remembering something relevant? No Are other people than herself and the pope relevant? Not directly.
Given that the date of the Pope's departure is the 28th Feb are leap years relevant? No

Is Margaret very old?YES

Is Margaret the same age as the Pope?Yes! or within a few weeks. Was his activities as the Pope argument for her that she can still be active? YesIs she ill? No

*********SPOILER*****************
Margaret is just a few weeks younger than Pope Benedict. His successor will undoubtedly be younger than he is and therefore younger than Margaret. Though forestalled by being of the wrong faith, gender, and marital status to be pope, it nevertheless is a shock to realize that you are older than such a venerable person.

Something like the same rule applies to the presidency. Even if you are apolitical, it is sobering to realize that you are not going to grow up to be President of the US because you are already older than he is!

Nice puzzle . I feel like Margaret when English soccer commentators marvel how some goalkeeper is still playing the game at 41. I'm 42!
