Has he done something to discourage the throwing away of these things? To encourage recycling them?

Galfisk
Would he have been appalled, because in his time aluminum metal was newly discovered and extremely valuable?
Bang - you got it, Galfisk, so here's the

********spoiler********

Before the industrial process for extracting aluminum from its ore had been developed [check Wikipedia for more], it was a rare and precious metal. Although perhaps apocryphal, Napoleon reportedly ate off an aluminum plate, while his guests made do with gold plates. Can you imagine how he'd feel to see such a rare commodity just cavalierly tossed in a ditch? I think he'd be appalled; I would be, if I were him.

What does svv mean?
"sufficiently vague values"

I've urged the mods, at the Chatroom, to make a page of LTPF nomenclature and lists available with a link in the left frame; Peter365 referred me to such a list, posted at a different URL.
If you think you'd benefit from it, perhaps post similar requests at the Chatroom page? Apparently, only Mr. Sloane can make such alterations to the site.
I hope Yojimbo doesn't become a clamoring nuisance; I just think it might be helpful to have ready access to it.
