Did her dream job require her to move and she didn't want to?
Did the other job require her to move somewhere she did want to?
Did someone tell her to take the other job?
Was taking the other job more logical to her situation?

Choice of school for her children ? Does the job she chooses have any particular perk that we should ascertain? Does this work for specific occupations only?

I'm guessing it would inappropriate to invoke the dreaded LTPF list.

I'm guessing it would inappropriate to invoke the dreaded LTPF list. You can if you want, but it'll probably be solved almost instantly if you do...I don't think it should be too hard to get without the list.

Or maybe she was offered a job in a single sex school but stays in a co-ed because she has a boy and a girl and wants them to go to not only the same school but also the school where she teaches?

Close enough for a

*****SPOILER*****
Clara is a teacher with a young child or children who is not yet of school age. She was offered a job at the best school in the town, but decided against it as she wanted her child to attend that school, and was worried that having a parent as a teacher would lead to the child being teased or feeling uncomfortable, or perhaps that she would find it hard to treat her child fairly.

Of course, plenty of children attend the same school their parents teach at without problems. But I also know teachers who have chosen to send their children to different schools.
