Both as a child & well into adulthood, I had a passive scrund about childhood. It may be a fairly unusual scrund, because I don't know of anyone else who has had it, & it probably arises from one of my (many) peculiarities. What is it?

Was the scrund related to school/education? family? children's rights? a child's physical development? mental/cognitive development? hobbies/activities? friendship?

Was the scrund about whether children could do a particular activity?
Was the scrund that since you like an activity, every other child likes it too?

Should we find out what hobby/activity it is?

Did you collect the thing for a particular reason? An unusual one? Did your scrund come about because you assumed that other children would be like you in a particular way, but they weren't?

Is trading of collectibles relevant? Relevant where the children got the objects from?

Did you "collect" the toys because you actually liked playing with them? whereas others just wanted the sense of accomplishment of getting as many of them as they could?

Something you wear?
Do the toys have moving parts? Do they require an electrical supply? Do they represent objects from the real world (eg animals or people)? Are they dolls? Would boys be more likely to have this thing? Girls? Both sexes equally?

Rather than collecting, would it be more accurate to say that the children have a lot of the toys, but don't deliberately collect them?

Is a particular type of doll relevant? Barbies? More realistic baby dolls? Porcelain dolls? Rag dolls?

Is it relevant how children play with dolls? What games they play? Whether they believe the dolls are 'real'? Whether they name them?

Did you have many dolls as a child? Did you play with them in an unusual way? Have an unusual attitude towards them?

Is pretending to be the doll's mother relevant? Playing 'families'? Making dolls interact with each other, or with other toys? Playing at specific scenes, like making the dolls go to school or have a tea party? Relevant whether children play with their dolls alone or with other children/their parents? Relevant at what age they play with dolls? What they do with the dolls when they grow up?

Did you pretend to be your dolls' mother as a child?

Is the scrund to do with whether or not children pretended to be their doll's mother? If so, did you think they did this more than they do? Didn't do it?

Is it relevant whether a child pretends all their dolls are part of the same family? Whether they play with all their dolls at once? Whether they assign a specific character or personality to each doll?

Did you pretend to be your dolls' mother as a child?NEVER!!!!! I'm the least maternal person in the history of the universe.

Is the scrund to do with whether or not children pretended to be their doll's mother? yesIf so, did you think they did this more than they do? noDidn't do it? yes

Is it relevant whether a child pretends all their dolls are part of the same family? no Whether they play with all their dolls at once? no Whether they assign a specific character or personality to each doll? yope

***** SPOILER ************
As a child, I loved to play with dolls, but I never had baby dolls & I never mothered my dolls. I pretended they were my friends & enemies & acted out little dramas with them. I never even knew that little girls were apt to mother their dolls, until, as an adult, I read a feminist tract that said little girls were given dolls to "socialize them into the mothering role." I was given dolls because I asked for them -- and now I ask you to check out my new puzzle.
