During the next week, I'll probably spend more time on the LTPF than usual and less time on other websites. How come?

Is there a problem with your internet that is preventing you from accessing certain websites? Or was it deliberate (like a parental block)? Is your keyboard broken and so you can't type certain characters, so you can only go to websites that don't have those characters in them?

Will you be spending less time on:
Every website that you visit other than the LTPF?
Only some?
If so, relevant which ones?

Will you still be spending the same total amount of time on the internet? More? Less?

Is it relevant that the LTPF is largely text-based?

Right. Are images/videos/flash animations not displaying properly, or do you not have sufficient data left in your plan (or your connection is too slow due to too much usage or whatnot) to browse an image/video/flash-heavy website?

Or does displaying an image/video/flash cause problems with your computer? Is there a software/compatibility issue? Or is your usage being monitored somehow, and you're keen to avoid suspicion?

Will you be browsing the internet on a different device than usual? On a phone? On an older computer? Will you be travelling?

Would visiting image/flash heavy websites be impossible? Expensive? Slow?

Will your internet connection be slower than usual? Will it be undergoing maintenance? Will there be more people using it? Will you be doing something data-heavy on it all week?

Are you the only person that will have this slower broadband for a week? Are you changing providers? Is your service provider changing their service? Doing repairs?

Is the cause for the use of the slower broadband predominantly at your end or the ISP's end?

Is hardware relevant? Wiring? Construction work? A person moving in or out of a dorm room?

Is the cause for the use of the slower broadband predominantly at your end or the ISP's end? Hmm. A bit of both, and a possible FA lurking

Is hardware relevant? yes Wiring? yes Construction work? no A person moving in or out of a dorm room? I don't live in a dorm, but people moving in and out of this flat are relevant

Was it your roommate's router?
Do you now have to set up an account with the ISP as a result of the vanishing router, so you can get another?
And in the interim, you have lower-bandwidth internet services?

Do you now have to set up an account with the ISP as a result of the vanishing router, so you can get another? yesish
And in the interim, you have lower-bandwidth internet services? yes. This is almost solved. Considering that I have no working wireless router in my flat at the moment, how am I posting this? (And yes, I'm at home)

Are you working with wireless from a nearby location? An internet cafe?
my sister cancelled her account with an ISP, as she had excellent broadband from a coffee-house across the street from her apartment

Are you using your phone for internet? yes A cabled connection?

This was solved just in time, because - if all goes well - I'll finally get a decent internet connection tomorrow.

********SPOILER********
When my ex-roommate moved out, he cancelled our internet contract, and I had to send back the wireless router to the ISP. I made a new contract and ordered a new router. However, the broadband connection won't be activated until tomorrow. Till then, I use my phone as a wifi hotspot and I'm browsing the internet with mobile broadband which is considerably slower than my usual connection.

That's why this week, I try to avoid all websites that are heavy in images, video or flash, as they take ages to load. The good ol' LTPF and other largely text-based websites, on the other hand, only takes slightly longer to load than usual.
