Although Mike does not really care about politics, he really hopes Rand Paul is elected President in 2016. Why?

Is Mike from Kentucky? Is he an American? Is he a fan of Ayn Rand?

Is there some biographical detail of Senator Paul that's relevant? Would Mike want follow Kentucky Republican Senator Mitch McConnell to be president? Or is there something particular about Paul?

Does Mike finally want a president that's shorter than him?

Is Mike from Kentucky? Probably not, but irrelevant. Is he an American? Assume yes Is he a fan of Ayn Rand? Irrelevant

Is there some biographical detail of Senator Paul that's relevant? Noish Would Mike want follow Kentucky Republican Senator Mitch McConnell to be president? No Or is there something particular about Paul? People besides Rand Paul would work, but McConnell is not one of them.

Is age relevant? if so, Mike's or Mr. Paul's? or both in relation to the other? Mike is an adult, but other than that, no.

Does Mike finally want a president that's shorter than him? Haha, no.

Seriously though, we've had nothing but tall guys since Carter, and Carter was only barely below average

Is it safe to say that Mike's reason for wanting President Paul has nothing to do with any policies or political outcomes that might result?

Would Mike be equally happy if Paul was the Republican nominee in 2016, but lost? Would he be equally happy if Paul ran and won for the first time in 2020?

Would Rand's father Ron Paul be one of the people that work?

He hopes it will be, he's not certain, but if someone else got elected, unless that person also met the requirement, his business would definitely not be positively affected.

Suppose tomorrow Rand Paul was appointed Speaker of the House (technically allowed, I might add) and immediately afterwards President Obama and Vice President Biden died in a freak gorilla attack. Would Mike be happy about Paul assuming the presidency in this fashion?

Would Mike's happiness about Paul becoming president require:
Being elected?
Running a campaign?
Becoming the 45th President?
The year 2016?
His inauguration?
Becoming President before something? Someone?
Becoming president after something? Someone?

Would Mike be equally happy if a man named "Senator Rand Pall" won? If it were pronounced the same way, yes. Or does it need to be the traditional spelling?

St. Paul relevant? No

Does Mike expect a financial gain if Paul wins? Directly? No. Indirectly, yope. Does he expect some immaterial gain? I have no idea how material it would be. If Paul didn't win, would he be very, very disappointed? Or is his interest marginal? Somewhere in between.

Are Rand Pauls initials relevant? No
Would Mike be equally happy if somebody else with the initials RP would win the election? Not unless that person's name would also work. Remember, the president-elect wouldn't necessarily have to be named Paul, but no current candidates other than Rand Paul and Paul Ryan have names that would work.

Is the term "pick" or its derivations relevant? Maybe "poll"? "Bracket"?

Would the pun work just as well if the President made picks for another sport with a similar tournament style? Does it have to be basketball? Does it have to be NCAA basketball?

Is there a relevant team called "Paul"? so, one could say "R. Paul picked DePaul"?

Is the term "pick" or its derivations relevant? Maybe "poll"? No to all "Bracket"? This is closest, but not correct.

Would the pun work just as well if the President made picks for another sport with a similar tournament style? No Does it have to be basketball? Does it have to be NCAA basketball? It uses a term that generally refers to NCAA Basketball. I've seen it apply to other college sports with large tournaments, like baseball, but none that are large enough to merit presidential picks on ESPN. It would not work for professional sports.

"Selections?" "Tree"? "Tournament" or "Tourney"? "Bracketology?"

Does the relevant term have to do with actual gameplay? Does it have to do with the popular or fan culture surrounding March Madness? Is betting relevant?

Is the pun just "Bracketpaulogy"? Bingo!

****SPOILER****

Right now, when Barack Obama makes his picks on SportsCenter, it's called "Baracketology" but once Obama leaves office, they can't use that name. However, if someone named Paul wins, they can have "Brackepaulogy" or something like that. Good job. Check out my next puzzle!
