Here's a new one! Again taken from Crack the Case.

Audrey, a wealthy and aging socialite, is found sitting in a chair, dead. One of the detectives' biggest clues is on the wall next to Audrey.

Is Audrey female? Is it relevant exactly how old she is?

Was she murdered? Did she die of an accident? Illness? Natural causes? Suicide?

Was the thing on the wall a painting? Picture? A crack in the wall? A mark or stain? A message? A piece of material? Was the clue at the height of Audrey's head? Lower? Higher? Was it something stuck onto the wall?

Was Audrey found in her home? Inside? Outside? Did she die in the chair in which she was found? Had she died less than an hour before being found? Less than a day? Less than a week? A year?

Is the clue on the wall something that would ordinarily be found on a wall? Was it on Audrey's wall before the murder? Is it a mirror?

I'm assuming the information left to uncover pertains to the information on the sign and not how the heir managed to get the poison into the dye.

Did the information relate to her particular choice of hair dye? Was it an instruction on how to apply the dye, or health and safety procedures relating to its application? Was the writing about the dye at all?

Was the message on the wall:
Encouraging clients to mix and use their own dye?
Inviting them to bring their own dye in?
Prohibiting them from doing so?
Advertising a new dye?
Advertising a "fix" in case they did not like the color?

Did Audrey smoke? Relevant? Had she left her money to her hairdresser? Did the same person poison the dye and apply the dye to Audrey's hair? Was that person the real hairdresser?

SPOLIER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
****************************************************************

Aurdey made the mistake of informing her hairdresser, Harold that he was the sole beneficiary of her estate. Well, old Harold decided to mix nicotine rat poison into Audrey's hair dye the next time she came in to get colored. The poison almost immediately seeped into her skin ad killed her. Harold called the police, pretending to be frantic. When the detectives got there though, the nicotine smell still lingered, contradicting the many No Smoking signs.
That went faster than expected! Good deduction work.
