February is Black History Month in the US, but celebrating it is less fun than it used to be. How come?? (Political correctness is not involved.)

Less fun for you in particular? for your family? for your friends? or for people in general?

Did it stop becoming fun in the 1970s? 1980s? 1990s? 2000s? 2010s?

Is Morgan Freeman's criticism of black history month relevant?

Is it less fun because...

they stopped doing something that was fun?
they started something new that ruins the fun?
they do the same thing every year and it just got boring?

(when I say "they", I mean people in general who celebrate
Black History Month or who run relevant events)

Is it to do with the fact that the myth that Carver invented the peanut has now been debunked, and you are less happy about celebrating something based on a falsehood?

Do we used one of his peanut products less often than we used to? Stopped using it all together?

Was one of his peanut products proven to have a flaw? Did a better product come along?

Is eating peanuts/peanut butter relevant?

So, peanuts are relevant, but peanut butter isn't, correct? Is a different peanut product relevant? Is it no longer served at Black History Month celebrations? Served less often than before?

************ SPOILER ************
When I was in grade school, I loved Black History Month, since we got peanut candies & peanut butter in class. Now this would not be part of grade school festivities. Question: Are peanut allergies more common or are people just more aware of them? In any case, please check out my new puzzle (not a scrund).
