Has this happened to you?

Is the happening's location relevant?
Time of day? Month? Year? Century? Millennium?

Does it happen to people? A person or more than one?
Animals? Places? Plants? Inorganic objects?

Is the ellipses phrasing of the question indicative of a relevant first half?

Has this happened to you? Well, I was a viewer of it.

Is the happening's location relevant? Only in the broadest sense - you might say Middle America. Not Hollywood. Time of day? Month? Year? Century? Millennium? No to all. Recently.

Does it happen to people? A person or more than one? Yes, more than one person is required. The rest of the question, No.

Is the ellipses phrasing of the question indicative of a relevant first half? No, it just connects the title with the puzzle statement. "Even in Hollywood, this can't happen too often."

Welcome to the forum, Rheo!

Do people purposely make this happening happen?
Accidentally? They did not make it happen just for the sake of making it happen. But it did involve positive action on their part. So a bit of both, yopishly. Best word might be 'coincidental.'
Is the number of people participating in the event relevant? Yes, 4 - but this might be misleading!
Is the number of people viewing the happening relevant? Less than 100; n.r.
Did you view the happening on purpose? Yes If so, did you pay to view it? No; one does not pay for admission to view this sort of event.
Have you ever viewed it before?
Do you expect to ever view it again? I have viewed many similar events, but never one exactly like this, and do not expect to. It is not, however, impossible that I would.
Was anyone injured during (or as a result of) the happening? No
Did anyone's feelings get hurt? Not among the persons present at the event.
Did anyone make or lose money as a result of the happening? No
Did the happening involve interpersonal relationships? YES
Is moviemaking relevant? Entertainment? Celebrity at all? No to all. Does Hollywood have any relevance to the puzzle? Only in a metaphorical sense; not the place or the industry.
Is the puzzle ironic at all? As in, can this happen often? Yes, exactly!
Are any acts of nature relevant?
Are animals involved? Plants? No to all.
Were there negative consequences resultant of the happening? Positive? I would say positive.
Are any specifically known people involved? Famous or well-known? No.

You didn't answer if your profession was relevant. (I meant the question to be phrased as distinguishing the participants from the viewers of the event)

Are their ages relevant? Nationalities or ethnicities? Religions? Beliefs or worldviews?

Were they a pair of married couples?
Was there a marriage at all between any of them?
Same questions re: dating?
Is sexual preference relevant?

Is the type of building in which the event occurred relevant?

Was there 1 marriage happening? 2? 3? Well, just 1 *wedding* going on, but 3 marriages actually involved.
Was the building a church? Yes!
I think you can probably put it together at this point, or most of it.

Was it two divorcesyes & a wedding between two of the divorcees? Yope, kind of.

Maybe it would simplify matters to name the participants: A, B, C & D, or Arthur, Bonnie, Cecily and Doug. Doug did not go to the wedding. Arthur and Bonnie are the couple getting married. How does Cecily fit into the picture?

I'm depending on you, Rheo, cause it looks like it's just us two here!

Was Cecily married to Doug also? Yes

Are any of them blood related? A&C? B&D? B&C? this; no to the others.A&D? D&C?

*************SPOILER***********
While I was attending the wedding referred to in my previous puzzle "A scrund in the USA," it occurred to me that both the bride and her matron of honor (Cecily) had been married at different times to the same man, Doug. Bonnie and Cecily were also first cousins. (They were estranged for a while, but are now best friends.)
Further, the junior attendants (children too old to be ringbearer/flower girl, but not old enough to be usher/bridesmaid) were both half-siblings and 2nd cousins.
If there has been a similar situation amongst Hollywood types, I don't recall reading about it. Yet it seemed perfectly natural to everybody there.

Perseverance has its rewards, Rheo! Thanks.
