Is Robert Burns relevant?

Is it a mouse or rat?

When you said it's unknown how old the song is, did you mean its age was unknown specifically to you? or unknown to the world?

Add-On: I have searched about this and it turns out it isn't in any language, though it has similarities to Japanese.

Does a man seem to be mentioned in the lyrics, but they are actually nonsense? Does a mouse seem to be mentioned?

Is the fictional man supposed to be the singer of the song? The composer? Is he referenced in the title?

Is the title in a real language? If not, do we know what the song is about because of: what the composer says? People's best guesses? Clues in the gibberish? A non-lyrical element of the song?

Spoiler:

This is from a book and I'd rather not go into details in case anyone wants to read it, since I was chewed on for giving spoilers willy-nilly. All I'll say is that the title is reference to a song Adiemus, which I thought was sung by Enya, but research showed it it was sung by a different singer. The puzzle statements refers to the man whom others thought was the murderer, but he was not. I won't say the title for reasons listed above
