(Grip) Top of the List (Neologism)

Postby Grip » Mon Dec 12, 2016 11:50 pm

Figured I'd try one of these new-fangled (to me) puzzle types.

There are few things more painful to me than a ladep.

Is the pain physical? Emotional? Mental?
Can other people experience this pain?
Does a ladep always produce pain?

Is it embarassing? Exhausting? Annoying? Stressful?
Can this be inflicted by someone else? By the person themselves?

Is it having to explain the joke? or even having to tell people that what you just said was a joke?

Could this happen if you set a puzzle that you think is hilarious and even though someone solves it no one reacts after the spioler? Or does actual speech have to take place?

Is the ladep the joke that wasn't laughed at? Your telling of the joke? The silence itself? Your emotional response to it? The emotional whiplash caused by expecting a laugh and not getting one?

***** SPOILER *****

A ladep is the awful silence that often ensues when you tell a joke that nobody laughs at, not even a chuckle or a smile. When this happens to me I feel really awkward and embarrassed and I just want to lay deep somewhere and be invisible for a little while.
