The nervous schoolboy - H/C/M? H/T/M? Exact age relevant? Would it work with a nervous schoolgirl?

A chocolate - one of those that Forrest Gump has a box of? a piece of a chocolate bar? a chocolate candy such as a Reese's Cup or a Hershey's Kiss?

His pocket - the pocket of his pants/trousers? jacket? other item of clothing?

Did the boy put the chocolate there himself? If not, did a family member put it there? a friend? a teacher? a stranger?
Did whoever put it there put it there before the boy put on the item of clothing? afterwards?

Where there at any point more chocolates in his pocket?

Did the chocolate cause his nervousness? alleviate it? worsen it?

The nervous schoolboy - H/C/M? H/T/M? Yes to H and M; late child/early teen is probably in the middle of the bell curve for probability here Exact age relevant? no Would it work with a nervous schoolgirl? yes

A chocolate - one of those that Forrest Gump has a box of? a piece of a chocolate bar? a chocolate candy such as a Reese's Cup or a Hershey's Kiss this, specifically. Good question. ?

His pocket - the pocket of his pants/trousers? jacket? not strictly relevant; assume jacket for the purposes of this puzzle other item of clothing?

Did the boy put the chocolate there himself? yes If not, did a family member put it there? a friend? a teacher? a stranger? no to all, although he could have put it there under advice
Did whoever put it there put it there before the boy put on the item of clothing? afterwards? n/a

Where there at any point more chocolates in his pocket? no/not relevantly

Did the chocolate cause his nervousness? alleviate it? this worsen it?

You are correct. It appears this case is more well-documented than I thought.

Does the boy ever eat the kiss? if so, at school? once home?

Is some pun related to the name of the candy and actual smooching relevant here?

Is the kiss (chocolate) meant to be used somehow to get a kiss (lips) from the crush?

Just a wild guess: He was planning to offer his crush a kiss (an actual one), but in case his offer was turned down, he could come back with "I meant a chocolate kiss" and take the one out of his pocket to give to her.
