Is the King one whose existence is debated? oh no, while he reigned he was undisputably King of his Kingdom. King Arthur? Lear? much more recent than that.

Is the king the king of your SCA kingdom? Was he amused because this was the first time a non-human joined his kingdom?

Is the king the king of your SCA kingdom? at the time, yes. Alfarr Utherson :) Was he amused because this was the first time a non-human joined his kingdom? no - in fact, his queen, Eilis O'Boirne, has a stuffed koala who's quite important in the SCA :D This is probably as far as anyone will get, though, so I'll ***SPOILER*** it here.

A few months after I joined the West Kingdom of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), I attended my first major local event - the Principality of the Mists' Bardic Feast. Bards (singers/storytellers) were competing at the feast for the honour of being Their Highnesses of The Mists' next court bards. Prince Geoffrey and Princess Catherine were in attendance, of course, but so were Their Majesties, King Alfarr and Queen Eilis. I attended with Donut (called "Fritter" in the SCA) as my usual companion...and he was wearing leather armour our friend Lord Karius had fashioned for him. Seagull armour :)

It's not usual to come to a SCA feast in armour (unless there is to be fighting besides feasting, which there wasn't this time), and King Alfarr was greatly amused by Donut/Fritter's appearance. He's also a big Disney fan in 'mundane' life, and recognized Donut's being a Finding Nemo seagull right away. He was so pleased with this new 'knight' so eager to defend their royal honour, he gave Donut his favour (A small piece of chainmail hanging from a keychain. Donut still wears it attached to his collar!

I made this puzzle in honour of Twelfth Night Coronation, held this past weekend near Reno, Nevada. Their Majesties have stepped down from their term as King and Queen, and are now His Grace, Duke Alfarr and Her Grace, Duchess Eilis. They are replaced on the throne of the West by their Heirs, their Majesties King Roger Stockton and Queen Zanobia Florentini of the West. Long May They Reign! (Until Beltane, anyway!)
