[Doriana] Seeing is believing

Postby Doriana » Sun Jan 22, 2017 6:25 pm

"Make sure you're the first one she sees", Lilly (H/C/F) said to Gemma (H/A/F), thereby revealing that she had a funny scrund. What is it?

Is "she" a relative of Lilly and Gemma? According to Lilly's scrund, would Gemma being the first one she sees be beneficial to Gemma? Would Gemma avoid any bad consequence by being the first one she sees? Is she expected in Lilly's and Gemma's house?

Is she a mother of the girls? A grandmother? A sister?
Are Lilly and Gemma expected to go out? Is Gemma only expected to go out?
Would the situation remain the same if Gemma had another first name? If Gemma was a boy? If Gemma was Lilly's other relative than sister? If Gemma was a child?

Is she a mother of the girls? A grandmother? A sister? No to all. Keep in mind that "she" is a child.
Are Lilly and Gemma expected to go out? Is Gemma only expected to go out? No, and still a possible FA.
Would the situation remain the same if Gemma had another first name? Yes If Gemma was a boy? No, the situation would not exist if Gemma was a boy. If Gemma was Lilly's other relative than sister? Yes If Gemma was a child? No, the situation would not exist if Gemma was a child.

Is she Gemma's child? If yes, has she already been born? Does Lilly think that a newborn child would regard as their mother the first woman they see?

Is she Gemma's child? Yes If yes, has she already been born? No, not at the time of the puzzle statement, good question. Does Lilly think that a newborn child would regard as their mother the first woman they see? YES

********SPOILER********

Gemma was pregnant with her first child, a daughter. When she visited her family a month before her due date, her 10-year-old sister Lilly delivered this gem.

Lilly: "When you have the baby, make sure you're the first one she sees."
Gemma: "Why?"
Lilly: "Because if she sees the doctor or the nurse first, she'll think they are her mother!"

Well done, Kaylee, Grip, and especially RedWine. As I said earlier, this is a true story that happened to a teammate of mine. Real-life Gemma gave birth to a healthy baby girl yesterday, although it is unknown whom the baby saw first :P
