[RedWine] Old women just cannot handle such a big stuff.

Postby RedWine » Fri Jan 27, 2017 9:20 am

This week, when I had to (again) use the big instead of the small, I thought it's time to start to write down my shopping lists.

Does the word big refer to the size of your shopping? Do you buy more than you plan to? Do you impulse buy? Would writing a list, and sticking to it, reduce the amount of shopping?

Does the word big refer to the size of your shopping? No. Do you buy more than you plan to? No. Do you impulse buy? No. Would writing a list, and sticking to it, reduce the amount of shopping? Not relevantly.

Trollies? Not involved.

Did not writing a list mean that you had to travel further or to more individual shops?

Is how you travel to the shop relevant? Is this grocery shopping? Do you bring your own bags?

Are the big/small things sizes of products? Do you buy something, believing you're out, when you're really not?
Is how you pay relevant? If so, cash? Check? Credit? Debit?

Not sure how tea is not groceries? Or is this not worth pursuing?

Personally I use the word groceries to cover anything that can be eaten, whether it's prepacked or fresh. A greengrocer would just sell fruit and vegetables (and food to feed the birds), but if that same food was in a supermarket then it becomes just groceries. The English language is so confusing.

So does the word big refer directly to the tea? Or to something else on the shopping trip? Was the tea in bags, loose leaves? Relevant?

I say groceries to mean ANY consumables purchased; not just food, but stuff like laundry detergent as well. But anyway...

Did you MEAN to buy loose leaf tea? Did you mean to buy tea bags instead?
Did the big/small things refer to cups? Teapots? Some other method of preparing tea?
Were you forced to use the 'big' because you purchased the wrong kind of tea?

Is the tea's flavour relevant ? Do you need a bigger cup because you need to add more of something to effect the flavour? Suger, milk or lemon for example?

Is the brand of tea too strong and you need a bigger cup so you can dilute it with extra water?

Is there a weaker variety of tea that you meant to buy? Would you write a specific tea brand on your shopping list?

Did the tea become stronger because you used: stronger tea leaves? More tea leaves? Hotter water? More time? Did you know you'd have to use the big cup when you started making the tea? Or did something go wrong later in the brewing process?

Peter365:

Is there a weaker variety of tea that you meant to buy? No, I bought exactly what I meant to buy.
Would you write a specific tea brand on your shopping list? No, I would just write "loose leaves tea".

GalFisk:

Did the tea become stronger because you used: stronger tea leaves? More tea leaves? Hotter water? More time? No to all, more tea leaves is closest.
Did you know you'd have to use the big cup when you started making the tea? Yes. Or did something go wrong later in the brewing process? No.

RECAP:

This week, when I had to (again) use the big tea cup instead of the small tea cup, I thought it's time to start to write down my shopping lists.
I needed the big cup because the tea I could have used was too strong and I needed a bigger cup so I could dilute it with extra water.
My only intended relevant purchase was the loose leaves tea.
I ended up buying exactly the type of tea I wanted. I bought tea only once within the timeframes of this puzzle.
I think there is a FA concerning the timing.

Did you buy the tea you wanted before having to use the big cup? After? Did you need to use the big cup with the tea you bought? With tea someone else bought?

Did you drink the other tea because you had failed to get your own? If so, had you failed to do this more than once?

There are only details left to find out, so let's proceed directly to the
*************SPOILER***************
In my office we buy tea in bags for our clients. Employees can also use this tea. This tea is way too strong for me, so I buy my own tea in loose leaves, which I like to drink in small cups. Recently I ran out of my tea and was still forgotting, for more than a week, to buy myself a new one. I remembered about buying new tea only in moments when I had to drink strong office tea in big cup.
It was making this puzzle what helped - after having posted it I remembered about the purchase and bought myself new tea the very same day.

Thanks for playing!
