[Doriana] That's bananas!

Postby Doriana » Tue Feb 21, 2017 8:25 am

At first, I found Christina's remark slightly offensive. Then I remembered where she used to work and thought, "Well, that explains her choice of words".

True story, I = yours truly, Christina = H/A/F

Did she say something to the effect of, "Yeah, back then I was working with a bunch of baboons"? Which you briefly thought referred to people?

Would it be helpful to know the specifics of her previous job?
Or is it just important that she worked with or around apes?
Are the specifics of her job now important?
Did she refer directly to the animals?
Did she refer directly to people she was in contact with at her previous job? Her current job?

Did her comment use phrasing or a word that you would usually expect to be applied to animals/primates?
Are double meanings relevant?

Something related to mating? YES like mating call? or breeding season? Very OTRT musth?

That's close enough for me to declare the

********SPOILER********

At work, we recently tried to come up with new ways to recruit child participants for our studies. My colleague Christina said that we could expect some new participants soon, considering that "all the females in [her] cirlce of friends are of breeding age". I found her phrasing weird, maybe even a little offensive, but then I remembered that she used to work with primates before joining our lab and that this is just the terminology she is used to.

Thanks for playing everyone!

Ah, between this puzzle and another of your past puzzles I read recently, I now have a bit more understanding of your workplace, so I'll have a head start next time you do a work one. Not that it was all that relevant to this one.

Good puzzle, and that's a pretty funny way to put things.
