[Admin] Sam Snead

Postby Admin » Fri Feb 24, 2017 5:24 pm

The professional golfer, Sam Snead, won the Royal Poinciana Plaza Golf Tournament in Florida in 1962. By doing so he gained a unique distinction among golfers - unmatched to this day. What is it?

BTW - this is easy to look up so please do not do so if you want to play the puzzle.

Other tournaments relevant? His sex? Appearance? Was he the first or last to achieve something? Is it possible for another golfer to match his achievement?

The "unique distinction" was something related to the prize? a personal record of his? could this have happened in another golf course? If he had not won the tournament could he still had the unique distinction?

Any other person relevant? another player?
Relevant how many of the following: bogey, par, birdie, eagle, albatross, condor, phenix, hole in one?

Would he have achieved the "uniqueness" had he not won the tournament?
Type of tournament relevant?

CLOSE ENOUGH FOR A

* * * SPOILER * * *

Sam Snead is the only male golfer, amateur or professional, to have won an official event on the Ladies PGA Tour.
