He doesn't build an especially good rapport with any of the staff or customers. He never performs any service for the clients or the business while there. He doesn't increase Andrew's business. But Andrew is always pleased to see him. Why?

Andrew is a publican. Bryce regularly comes to the bar with his friends as their designated driver. Andrew's bar has a policy of giving free non-alcoholic drinks to sober drivers, which Bryce takes advantage of. Andrew, being a socially conscious individual, is pleased that his patrons are in Bryce's safe hands.

The service Bryce provides for Andrew's patrons is performed, of course, once they've left the premises.

In a sense, I suppose, he is increasing the business, or at least preventing a decrease, because he is ensuring the customer base comes back alive and un-incarcerated...
