[WiZ] Wonder underdog

They made a great return on their investment in the underdog. But the underdog lost! How did they profit from him?

Underdog in sports? Finance? Business? A tournament? Would they get a good return if the underdog won? Publicity relevant?

Did they invest on the fact that the underdog would have lost? Did they sell their investment? Was it evident that the underdog would have lost? If so, was it evident a lot of time before? Just secobds before? Was there asymmetric information (they knew sonething that others did not?)?

Investment in the underdog = a bet? They spend money financing the underdog? They spend money by testing something on the underdog? They spend mony directly on the underdog? With the last two I mean for instance in a race with cars, they invest in an innovative devise designed for the car of the underdog

Sports = the underdog in a certain sport or in different spirts? Race? Horse races? Football? Volley? Basket? Martial arts? Tennis?

Did they make a gain before that the underdog lost? After? Did he lose in a match? A single match? A tournament? A torunament that lasts months? Relevant?

Are sponsors relevant? Is the rival of the underdog relevant? Had they invested in the winner wouldn't they have the opportunity to do something (have a gain? Make advertisment?)?

was it much less expensive to invest in the underdog rather than in the winner? Was the aim of the investors to let people see the brand of the product they sell (do they sell a product or a service?) and the result would have been the same had they invested in the winner or in the loser? Had many others invested in the winner? if so, did just a firm obtain the possibility to make an investment on the winner?
Did they want to advertise a piece of equipment for boxers? In return of their investment did they want the underdog to show something? Is the relevant advertising made on the ring? After the underdog had lost? If so seconds after his lost? Minutes? Hours? Days? Can their product/service be advertised just by an underdog in box? (like they were a tattoo agency exploiting the fact that it i more probable that an underdog in box is more defensive and keeps his guard....or it was a provider of medical equipments...?)

is being the underdog an advantage for their investment? Were them in charge of advertising the underdog for the match? Were them part of a minor federation and wanted to attract the loser in their federation knowing that the cost of his contract would have been much lower after his lost? I mean...if was the underdog in a final of boxing he could be considered a great boxer as well...

Please rephrase

Minutes? Hours? Days? n/a to all Can their product/service be advertised just by an underdog in box? (like they were a tattoo agency exploiting the fact that it i more probable that an underdog in box is more defensive and keeps his guard....or it was a provider of medical equipments...?) You have the sense of it - they exploited the fact that that their advertisement would most likely be seen through the actions of an underdog

is being the underdog an advantage for their investment? In light of your following questions, I will say no Were them in charge of advertising the underdog for the match? no Were them part of a minor federation and wanted to attract the loser in their federation knowing that the cost of his contract would have been much lower after his lost? no I mean...if was the underdog in a final of boxing he could be considered a great boxer as well... This is true

Was the advertisement on the soles of his shoes? On the tongue? On the laces? On the fabric part that I'm sure has a name but I don't know what it's called ("the outside")?

Did they hope that the advertisment is seen when the underdog wears the shoes? When he is normally standing? Or did they hope in something like a knockout? The underdog taking his shoes off? The underdog going near to the corners of the ring where the cameras are (while the winner is attacking and his shoes would ave been covered by the underdog)?

***** SPOILER ******

Julius Francis sold ads to The Mirror on the bottom of his shoes for his fight with Mike Tyson. He was knocked down 5 times in 2 rounds.
