Tattoos relevant?
Is it something that somehow you can show eveb after you have done it? Can it be classified instead as an experience? Can it be witnessed just by a video? By signs on the skin?

Hurts = physical pain? In a specific part of the body? Legs? Head? Arms? Fingers? Feet? Hands? Stomach? Ass? Other parts? Does it hurt for a long time? For a fixed amount of time for anyone? For an amount of tine depending on sonething? Is it made directly by someone? Is it something you can find in a city? In a shop?

Tattoos relevant? No.
Is it something that somehow you can show eveb after you have done it? Only the painful part, not the cool part. Can it be classified instead as an experience? Possibly, but it's better classified in other ways. Can it be witnessed just by a video? Noish. By signs on the skin? The painful part is seen on the skin.

Hurts = physical pain? Yes. In a specific part of the body? Yesidh Legs? Possibly.Head? Arms? Fingers? Probably all of these. Feet? Unlikely. Hands? Probably. Stomach? Maybe Ass? Unlikely. Other parts? Possibly. Does it hurt for a long time? Yes. For a fixed amount of time for anyone? No. For an amount of tine depending on sonething? Yes. Is it made directly by someone? Depends what you mean by "it". The pain was not intended by anyone. Is it something you can find in a city? Yes. In a shop? Yes.

Is the pain a side effect? A feature?
Acting involved? A life experience? Hypnotism?

To clarify, was the pain due to healing? from physical trauma?
Was it a beauty treatment? A health treatment?
The duration of the pain afterwards, is that dependent on the length of 'IT'/the experience itself?
Could you find it anywhere else besides in a city, in a shop?
Would it help if we found out what kind of shop?

To clarify, was the pain due to healing? The pain is due to injury. As this heals the pain subsides. from physical trauma? I had to look up the definition, and this injury is not classified as physical trauma as far as I understand it (the body being hurt by blunt or sharp force).
Was it a beauty treatment? A health treatment? No to both.
The duration of the pain afterwards, is that dependent on the length of 'IT'/the experience itself? Length and intensity.
Could you find it anywhere else besides in a city, in a shop? Definitely.
Would it help if we found out what kind of shop? Only a little.

How many people did this involve? Can we invoke the LTPF list of numbers from 1-100? HAM? HAF? Other? Mixed? Animals?
Was it some kind of demonstration or display?
Places this might relevantly take place besides in a city, shop - beach, park, holiday, concert, other performance, pavement, river, in a house, garden, school...
Relevantly in UK, USA, other countries?

Does it look really cool to someone who does this or to someone who look at this? If the latter, to someone who look at this from a certain height? From a certain distance? Does it hurt because it involves people hitting each other?

Radiation relevant? Chemicals relevant?

I want to ask if combustion, specifically of fireworks, is relevant, but no fire is involved... hmmm...

So.... the obvious connection - sunburn relevant?
Anything else relevant about the gathering? Why they are there? Is that the "fun/cool" part? And the sunburn is the painful aftermath?

Since it's ultraviolet, does it involve luminosity?

So.... the obvious connection - sunburn relevant? DOYD - it's a UV burn, but not from the sun.
Anything else relevant about the gathering? Yes. Why they are there? Yope. Is that the "fun/cool" part? No. And the sunburn is the painful aftermath? Yes.

Since it's ultraviolet, does it involve luminosity? What do you mean? Luminosity means the brightness of a light emmitter, right?

Sorry, what I meant was, if you use florescent colours under a UV light they glow. People paint their bodies with it if they go to a rave. I just thought perhaps there was some kind of performance art involving this, not sure how it would fit in with hurting though.

Is some sort of equipment? Machinery? other? is used to create the part that is cool to watch?
But... a side effect of that is UV radiation, which results in a painful sunburn, proportional to its duration?
Is this just something that looks cool, as opposed to something that might be intended for entertainment?
Manufacturing relevant?

Fluorescence was an intended effect, but it was not the relevant thing that looked cool, nor did fluorescence cause the UV burn.

Is some sort of equipment? Yes. Machinery? other? is used to create the part that is cool to watch? The equipment is cool to watch.
But... a side effect of that is UV radiation, which results in a painful sunburn, proportional to its duration? Correct.
Is this just something that looks cool, as opposed to something that might be intended for entertainment? It was placed there in order to look cool, and make fluorescent materials glow (which also looks cool, but it's not the coolness in the puzzle statement).
Manufacturing relevant? No.

Is the "cool-looking part" intended to fulfill the goal of looking cool, or is it intended to achieve another goal? To produce/make something? To purify/refine/change something in context of a process?
Is the UV-generating object? device? lamp? relevant for us to discover so we can put things in context?

Is the "cool-looking part" intended to fulfill the goal of looking cool, or is it intended to achieve another goal? To produce/make something? Those who put it there intended for it to look cool in and of itself, and to make things fluoresce. To purify/refine/change something in context of a process? Those who manufactured it intended it for this use.
Is the UV-generating object? device? lamp? This. relevant for us to discover so we can put things in context?
SPOILER:
An event in Hong Kong mistakenly used germicidal UV lamps instead of blacklight lamps to light a public area, leaving partygoers with painful sunburn.
https://www.hongkongfp.com/2017/10/26/p ... t-landmark
Germicidal lamps are clear and you can see a fuzzy blue glow inside, which looks really cool, but they put out a lot of dangerous UVC radiation.

Thanks. If you want to learn more, I suggest this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpRMud6EFtE
He explains the physics behind it. That's where I learned about this event from.
Side note: halogen lamps and some other lamp types emit enough UV radiation to burn you if the protective glass is broken.
