Hi!!

Sign on a screen? On a street? Sign on a paper? Were there other signs with something else written on them? If so was the something written on the others quantities of a good? Number of times something happened?
"None" = not present? Not in store? Not found? Impossible to figure it out? Nobody there? Is it the answer to the question "How many of the thing are there"? Is it a label? If so on a box? On a fridge? In a Pc?

Is the sign replaceable? E.g. does it have a slot, into which another number or word can be added? 'None' as in 'zero'? Are there other signs, and if so, do they give other numbers? Other words besides numbers? Relevant where the sign is situated? Is it in the UK? USA? Another country?

Hi!!

Sign on a screen? No. On a street? Irr. Sign on a paper? Assume no. Were there other signs with something else written on them? Yes. If so was the something written on the others quantities of a good? Number of times something happened? No to both.
"None" = not present? Not in store? Not found? Impossible to figure it out? Nobody there? Is it the answer to the question "How many of the thing are there"? Is it a label? If so on a box? On a fridge? In a Pc? No to all.

Is the sign replaceable? E.g. does it have a slot, into which another number or word can be added? No. 'None' as in 'zero'? Yope. Are there other signs Yes. , and if so, do they give other numbers? Yope. Other words besides numbers? Yes. Relevant where the sign is situated? Noish. Is it in the UK? USA? Another country? This.

None: nobody? Neither of all possibilities? Nothing? Is the sign a response to a question? Does it have the word "none" on it? Does it say none by itself? When combined with other signs? Does it disallow the last possible alternative for something?

'None' as in 'Not one'? Did some of other signs have numbers on them? Was the 'None' printed or handwritten? So, some of the signs have numbers and some have words? Do some signs have nothing on them? Are the signs places to queue? Are they at an airport? Other place of transport? Is it relevant where these signs are? Are they on a vehicle? Is it possible to write other things on the signs? To move the signs around? Are some of the signs in a language other than English?

None: nobody? This...ish. Neither of all possibilities? Nothing? Is the sign a response to a question? No, but... Does it have the word "none" on it? Yes. Does it say none by itself? Yes. When combined with other signs? No. Does it disallow the last possible alternative for something? No.

'None' as in 'Not one'? No. Did some of other signs have numbers on them? No, but... Was the 'None' printed or handwritten? Irrelevant, assume handwritten. So, some of the signs have numbers and some have words? There may be numbers, but only the words are relevant. Do some signs have nothing on them? No. Are the signs places to queue? No. Are they at an airport? Assume yes. Other place of transport? No. Is it relevant where these signs are? Not specifically. Are they on a vehicle? No. Is it possible to write other things on the signs? Irr. To move the signs around? No. Are some of the signs in a language other than English? No.

Are the letters N-O-N-E actually part of other/different words, with a different context/meaning?

Anything to do with duty free? Items which may be prohibited, either in themselves or in certain quantities? Or restricted? Are the signs in English? Correctly or incorrectly translated from another language? It's not the answer to a question but it could be? Did some of the signs have words on them which could in theory be expressed as numbers? Anything to do with tickets? Taxis? The other signs have numbers AND words on them? Numbers expressed as words? Amount of luggage? Nothing/something to declare? Number of people? Number of something remaining/available?

Is the sign missing any letters? Is it displayed the right way up ? Is there any relevant punctuation?

Is the sign for information purposes? A warning? Is there an attempt at humour?

Are homophones relevant? Nun?

I had to look up YMMV, what an unusual phrase. Would DOYD in your opinion mean the same thing?

Sorry if I repeat...
So...do the other signs have numbers greater than 10? Greater than 100? Than 1000? Are there many signs with none? Are signs written on boxes? Written on something containing sonething else? Containing someone? None = no one? Are the signs bigger than labels? Than street signs? Are tose signs in a room? Outside?

Outside? This.

Is the sign a general airport one or does it belong to a business operating in the airport e.g. Car Hire , Bar , Restaurant? Toilets relevant? Airport security relevant?

Would this humour work elsewhere ?

Is the sign a general airport one or does it belong to a business operating in the airport e.g. Car Hire , Bar , Restaurant? Easily could be the latter, though I will tell you now this occurred in a military context. (Cue groaning) :D .

Toilets relevant? Airport security relevant? No to both.

Would this humour work elsewhere ? Absolutely. I just happened to find it in an aviation context.

Is it to do with something you might need to take with you, or leave behind, No. in an aviation or military contect? Is it aviation AND military? Yes, though it could also work in any business context. The aviation element is irrelevant, though the military one isn't.

Military element related to: training? Rank? Branch? Mildly (could work well in other branches, too). Discipline? travel? Fighting? Death? Logistics? For SVV. Politics? Force? Honor? Medals? Punishments? Weapons? Injuries? Tactics? None of the rest.

Does the sign reading something other than "none" read: a number? One word? A date and/or time? A sentence? It contains a phrase (a motto) of three words. There are no numbers, dates or times.

Second to none? Got it.

Spoiler

During WWII, a US air force squadron supposedly stuck up a sign at the gate to its aerodrome: "2nd Squadron, Second to None."

The New Zealand squadron next door promptly named itself "None."
