[Earnest] Incompatibles

Postby Earnest » Sat May 19, 2018 9:51 am

Rob and Jennie who live in the suburbs of the town have quite different habits. In particular when Jennie wakes up Rob goes to bed.

This is a possible quikie...there is the possibility indeed that it is solved at the first post. However the statement of the puzzle is voluntarily ambiguous to make things hopefully harder

Does one of them work the night shift and one the day? Relevant their jobs? Are their jobs essentially the same? Are they HAM and HAF? Is it relevant that they live in the suburbs? Are they married, living together, friends, enemies, strangers? By 'habits' do you mean just that their schedules are different, or do they have other habits/pastimes which are different too?

Do they live in homes in the suburbs? In the same home? In the same apartment complex? Are they homeless?

Does Rob always go to sleep at the exact moment Jennie wakes up? Does he stay asleep for the time that she is awake? Does Jennie also go to sleep when Rob wakes up? Is anything about either of their before-bed rituals relevant? Or rituals upon waking up?

WAG: Are they the same person with multiple identities? :)

Is it relevant how Rob & Jennie are waking up? (e.g. alarm clock, sunlight, etc.)

Is another relevant person or animal involved?

Are they living in different time zones?
One or more towns? Two towns with the same name? Towns which are twinned with each other?

"Goes to bed" = gets into a bed, goes off to sleep?
"Wakes up" = stops being asleep, gets out of bed?
Should we explore other ways in which their habits differ? Do they have different eating or bathing habits, for example?
Do each of them go to bed in their own bed? Or someone else's? Are beds relevant in any way other than for R and J to sleep in?
"Suburbs" = outskirts of town? Do they live in the same suburb, or different ones? Is the distance between them relevant? Is it relevant how far away they live from their work?

$POILER...
Told you that it was a quickie one...Rob and Jennie live in two different time zones. Rob lives in Italy and Jennie in New Zeland. Well it is quite a classic but it came up into my mind when one of my friend went in Australia and we had a Skype call in the morning for me but in the evening for her

Thanks anyone for playing and congrats mimsy

They would have to live in Southland and Cinque Terre, the only twinned NZ-Italian places.
