[WiZ] One at a time, please #4

Postby WiZ » Fri Nov 16, 2018 12:01 am

A woman performs a certain action with water. She wants to get a prestigious award, so she learns to performs this action with colder water. What is she doing, and what is the award?

Standard OAATP rules apply. One question at a time, but you are allowed to suggest multiple variables for the same question, e.g. "Is Dave Steve's Father? Son? Husband? Brother? Neighbour? Meter reader? Drug dealer?

I adore this puzzle format since it forces me to be brief...which I am never able to xD

Is the action performed with the here assumed unchanged water status (liquid) mainly devoted to the explanation of something in order to win the award? Make a scientific experiment? Proof something (e.g. a theory)? Perform a magic trick? Hose down plants? Inflate balloons? wet something/someone?

Is the action a sport? yes If so, swimming? diving?

Doriana has asked more than one question (question two was conditional on the response to question one) and has incurred the standard penalty, which I didn't get round to instating).

*hangs head in shame*
I should have asked "is the action swimming? Diving? Another sport?" to cheat the system.

Anyway. Is it swimming? Diving?

Wolfier

Is it an individual yes or a group no sport?

Doriana

I should have asked "is the action swimming? Diving? Another sport?" to cheat the system. That's the spirit; Earnest managed to make a lot of progress by shining light on a FA on the first question

Anyway. Is it swimming? Diving? no to both

That's the spirit; Earnest managed to make a lot of progress by shining light on a FA on the first question Yes, and I could have avoided my last round of "no"s by actually keeping the FA in mind...

Is the sport speed skating? figure skating? skiing? snowboarding?

Is she a surfer-turned-snowboarder?

***** SPOILER *****

The woman is an accomplished surfer, which is not recognised as an Olympic sport. She yearns for an Olympic medal, so she turns her skills to snowboarding, which is.

Congratulations, Doriana, on the solution. I feel a little vindicated as the number of guesses suggests that the difficulty was perfect for the format.

I'll take 'Wily trickster', but I take exception to the second one.
