[Balin] Juan at a time, please

Postby Balin » Thu Feb 14, 2019 11:34 pm

I'd assume you all know the guidelines by now. And PM early spoily guesses - I suspect even with the OAATP parameter, this will go quickly and give me time to think of a puzzle where someone dies gruesomely.

Juan enters a room and makes it smaller. The next day, he enters the room and makes it smaller again. Lauren is pleased by this. Why?

Does he make it lower? Narrower? Shorter? Less inflated? More full? Look smaller? Feel smaller?

Is it made narrower by millimeters? Centimeters? Decimeters? Meters? The thickness of paint? Of wallpaper?

Is it made narrower by millimeters? If that Centimeters? Decimeters? Meters? The thickness of paint? This... Of wallpaper?

Yep, a quick one.

****SPOILER****

Juan is painting a room in Lauren's house. Each time he adds a new coat, he's making the room slightly smaller.

A really good idea for a puzzle, and one that would be right at home in the 'easy' section of a published anthology.

This format is proving itself rather useful for this sort of thing - I've lost count of the number of times I've come up with an inspiration for a puzzle, but declined to post it on the grounds of it being solved in 3-4 posts by a forum full of seasoned enthusiasts.
