[WiZ] Wife Thru a Lens

A woman is searching for a wedding photographer. She is not terribly fussy about the quality of the work, and she has planned a traditional church wedding which any professional would be used to shooting. Nonetheless, she spends weeks scouring the portfolios of photographers until she chooses one with absolute confidence. What was she looking for?

BOATS. Caveat Earlispoilor.

Can we assume that there were plenty of photographer ready to do the job at the same price and conditions? If so, to simplify things can we assume that the choice was among 10 photographers? Would she have spend weeks scouring them had they been 10? Would she have chosen one with absolute confidence as soon as she noticed something? Could she have been undecided between 2 photographers or more? Is it relevant the gender of photographer? Did she want an HAM? An HAF? The age?

Is religion relevant? Religion of the photographer? Of the future wife? Did she have children? Relevant? Can we assume that the husband (I am assuming she has a future husband...hope it's correct) was not fussy about the quality of pictures as well right? Is the husband relevant at all? Did she score the portfolio alone? With her husband? With someone else?

Did she look for relevant info about photographers? Personal info? Something she could have spot having seen their face? Their names? Did she want the photographer for the entire wedding (also after the ceremony inside the church? Also for the meal?) Relevant? Anything concerning the cost? The fact that a photographer already participated to other weddings (as a photographer?) ?

Is the fact that also guests would have probably made picture/videos relevant? Are guests relevant? (e.g. she wanted a photographer that other guests did not know in order for him to camouflage among them and take better pictures) That the photographer would have probably appeared in the pictures of other weddings as well? That he would have probably been noticed by someone?

Hi, Earnest. I think we're the only ones here.

Can we assume that there were plenty of photographer ready to do the job at the same price and conditions? yes If so, to simplify things can we assume that the choice was among 10 photographers? Sure Would she have spend weeks scouring them had they been 10? Sure Would she have chosen one with absolute confidence as soon as she noticed something? yes Could she have been undecided between 2 photographers or more? yes Is it relevant the gender of photographer? no Did she want an HAM? An HAF? The age? irrel to all

Is religion relevant? Religion of the photographer? Of the future wife? no to all Did she have children? Relevant? not relevant Can we assume that the husband (I am assuming she has a future husband...hope it's correct) irrelevant - this could be a same-sex wedding, but we can go with 'husband' for the purposes of the puzzle was not fussy about the quality of pictures as well right? no, he would have shared her concern to an equal extent Is the husband relevant at all? yes Did she score the portfolio alone? With her husband? irrel - whether or not her husband was looking with her, they would have come to the same conclusion for the same reason(s) With someone else? no

Did she look for relevant info about photographers? no Personal info? Something she could have spot having seen their face? Their names? no to all Did she want the photographer for the entire wedding (also after the ceremony inside the church? Also for the meal?) assume yes Relevant? not especially Anything concerning the cost? no The fact that a photographer already participated to other weddings (as a photographer?) ? yes

Is the fact that also guests would have probably made picture/videos relevant? no Are guests relevant? no (e.g. she wanted a photographer that other guests did not know in order for him to camouflage among them and take better pictures) That the photographer would have probably appeared in the pictures of other weddings as well? no That he would have probably been noticed by someone? no

Hi WiZ!!! Could not miss a WiZ puzzle ;) let's solve it!!

Did the husband know the selected photographer? Was it hard to notice the relevant charachteristic? I mean...if you have 10 pictures of 10 photographer, could she have spotted it immediately? Had she in fact pictures of the photographers? Was she looking for a photographer that already took part to another wedding in particular? That did not take part to a wedding? That took place at least to another wedding? A wedding of someone that took part to the cerimony? A wedding to which she partecipated? Relevant relationship among her and the photographer? Her husband and the photpgrapher? Was the photographer a wedding photographer typically? Relevant her job? The husband's job? Physical charachteristics of them? Of the phptographer? (E.g. they wanted a particularly tall photographer that could make pictures when there is crowd by putting the camera above the heads of people? Beard? Glasses? Fat?Others?) Cell phone relevant? Internet? Technology?

Did she already see the photographer at work? Did she already see some picture of the photographer? Did she see herself in a picture of the photographer? Did the husband see the photographer before? Knew him?

Is the relevant charachteristic more useful: during the wedding? After? When taking pictures? before the wedding? In a specific part of the wedding?

Is the location of the church relevant? Or some other thing that was planned as part of the wedding? Do the bride or her spouse have any disabilities, and she wants the photographer to be familiar working with differently-abled people? Is the colour scheme of the wedding/attire relevant?

Did the husband know the selected photographer? no Was it hard to notice the relevant charachteristic? not at all I mean...if you have 10 pictures of 10 photographer, could she have spotted it immediately? yes Had she in fact pictures of the photographers? no Was she looking for a photographer that already took part to another wedding in particular? Not the wedding of anyone specific, but explore That did not take part to a wedding? no That took place at least to another wedding? yes, but there is more A wedding of someone that took part to the cerimony? irrelevant A wedding to which she partecipated? no Relevant relationship among her and the photographer? no Her husband and the photpgrapher? no Was the photographer a wedding photographer typically? yes Relevant her job? The husband's job? no to both Physical charachteristics of them? yes Of the phptographer? no (E.g. they wanted a particularly tall photographer that could make pictures when there is crowd by putting the camera above the heads of people? Beard? Glasses? Fat? no to these (for both the Photographer and the couple) Others? yes) Cell phone relevant? Internet? no to both Technology? No (besides the camera, of course)

Did she already see the photographer at work? not relevantly Did she already see some picture of the photographer? She saw pictures by the photographer, although not of the photographer Did she see herself in a picture of the photographer? no, although this would help cement her decision Did the husband see the photographer before? Knew him? no to both

Is the relevant charachteristic more useful: during the wedding? After? When taking pictures? this; no to rest before the wedding? In a specific part of the wedding?

Is the location of the church relevant? no Or some other thing that was planned as part of the wedding? no Do the bride or her spouse have any disabilities no, and she wants the photographer to be familiar working with differently-abled people? this line of thinking is ORT Is the colour scheme of the wedding/attire relevant? noish to yope!

Is there something atypical or unique about the wedding? The setting? The people present? Was she looking for a specialist in a relevant difference?

Is religion relevant? Racial characteristics? Characteristics relevant to photography (light, weather, black-and-white vs. color...)?

Is there something atypical or unique about the wedding? yes The setting? no The people present? Yes, most importantly Was she looking for a specialist in a relevant difference? Yes, or at least someone with demonstrated experience

Is religion relevant? no Racial characteristics? yes! Characteristics relevant to photography yes (light yes!, weather no, black-and-white vs. color... Heh, depends on the context in which you're using these words)?

***** SPOILER *****

She had very dark skin, and her husband had very fair skin. At the best of times, they found it impossible to get the lighting right in photos (she would either disappear in shadow or he would disappear in glare). She went through the photographers' portfolios until she found one who had shot an interracial wedding and nailed the lighting.

Well done, Jen, on a quick solve, and thank you everyone for playing!

I had an idea it was something like this, but had no idea it might be interracial. An interesting thing to consider for a wedding!

Good puzzle.
