[WiZ] No Nothing to see here (OAATP)

Postby WiZ » Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:30 pm

There had been a recent trend in people sharing photographs that showed no creature, item, or action. Although these photographs were inoffensive, a lot of them were censored automatically. Explain.

True story. Caveat Earlispoilor. OAATP rules apply.

Does "sharing photographs" involve social media/Internet? Or something more analog?

Were they mistaken for inappropiate by a censorship filter or similar?

Did people upload pictures of this subject with the intention to get them auto-censored by the filters, or see if they would get censored? To show they didn't work as intended/would false flag images too easily?

Is the subject: a type of location? Just big areas of the color in question?

Do the photographers wish for something specific to happen when the photo is flagged? Or before it is flagged? Or after?

A note: You have established all you need to about why/how they were censored. What remains is what the pictures were of, and why they were shared, which are closely linked.

Galfisk, I like the idea of a sunruse. A winter's day where the sun gives the impression it's going to come out...

Photos of a wildfire? no Of the light from a wildfire?

***** SPOILER *****

The smoke from the Australian bushfires caused pinkish-auburn hazes in New Zealand that coloured and darkened the summer skies. People nationwide were taking photos of the phenomenon, but social media sites were censoring the pictures as they looked like a sea of naked flesh.

Congratulations, GalFisk on the solution, and thank you everyone for playing!
