[Doriana] Actually,

Conference season has started in academia! Last week, I presented a poster about my research at a conference. As usual, people stopped by to ask questions and give feedback. This time, however, everyone asked the same last question, and it's a question I've never been asked at a conference before. What was it?

I = Doriana
OAATP rules apply

Was it about: you? The poster? The research? The conference? The LTPF?

Was it about: you? The poster? The research? The conference? This is closest, no to rest The LTPF?

Has the conference relevantly changed anything about the way it is managed due to the pandemic?

Has it gone online? Limited the number of participants? Brought in rules about hygiene/mask wearing/distancing?

Is it relevant how exactly people were able to ask you questions - via video call? Audio call? Text chat? Pre-written questions that were sent to you?

Were they asking about the next conference? About whether it would also be online, or in person?

Technically, these are two different questions (I think), but I'll let it slide

Was the question about a technical aspect of the video call?

Were they asking how to end the call? YES

This went embarrassingly fast, even for an OAATP

********SPOILER********

I was presenting my poster virtually, using a web conferencing tool called BigBlueButton. As most conference attendees were not familiar with the tool, the last question everyone asked me was how to leave the call.

Sorry to spoil so quickly - I've obviously had a lot of meetings in the past few months with people struggling to figure out how to leave! Good puzzle!

No need to be sorry! I've also been in countless video meetings in the past couple of months. Most people can successfully leave a Zoom meeting by now, but as soon as you throw a new software into the mix, we're back to square one.
