[Doriana] Here's my number

Postby Doriana » Mon Jun 29, 2020 6:07 pm

If Taylor (H/T/F) had paid more attention in math class, Jerome (H/T/M) wouldn't have gotten in trouble.

This is yet another Brittany-inspired puzzle.

Weights or measurements relevant? Unit conversions? Imperial units? Metric units? Cooking? Provisions? No to all, and if this was a follow-up question to "ending up with too much or too little of something", you're getting OTWT Adding relevant? Subtraction? Multiplication? This Division? Usage of a calculator? and this

Did Jerome relevantly know about the interaction between Taylor and Brittany? Yes Relevantly not know? Did Taylor's interaction annoy the teacher? No Did Jerome also ask for a calculator? No Did Taylor make the teacher react badly to what Jerome did? No and potential FA

Order of events to help you all finish this off:
- Taylor is asked to do a calculation in her head
- She doesn't know how to, so she does it on a calculator
- She thinks the calculator is broken (because she didn't know that the result is smaller than the original number if you multiply it by less than 1)
- She asks the teacher to use another calculator
- The teacher relevantly interacts with Jerome
- Jerome gets in trouble

Something like that? YES, thanks for sticking with this one!

********SPOILER********

In class, Taylor is asked to calculate 2.1x0.7. When the calculator returns 1.47, she thinks the calculator is broken because she doesn't know that numbers get smaller when multiplied by a number < 1. She asks the teacher for another calculator. The teachers asks Taylor's classmate Jerome to give her his, but he forgot it at home. As this is his "third strike" of forgetting equipment, he gets in trouble.
